Thanks for watching! I'm still trying to figure out some minor audio glitches (overlapping words during cuts and etc), I'm always happy to hear recommendations for future videos!
I highly recommend you check out Brad's video on the JCBritW light system and Thagirion9 for some epic plant videos!

East Side Tropicals Hows yr pure merilliana doing?

@@christopher1931 I actually lost the merrilliana a few months back, it never fully acclimated for me when i received it and slowly went downhill from there. Maybe I'll try the species again in a few years when I have full temperature over my greenhouse

East Side Tropicals thats a bummer man, is it that hard to grow or was it just a temperature issue? i’ve got a clipeata in a little heliamphora terrarium that i want to eventually move to a future indoor lowland setup, merilliana and northiana are two id forsure want in there too

@@christopher1931 They definitely are a finicky species (right up there with northiana), they don't handle shock at all and humidity/temperature fluctuations cause them to go into shock...so it can go downhill pretty quick lol. I've been meaning to try my hand at northiana and clipeata but I'll see if I have space for them next season

This was a great update! I love truncatas as you know because they are so easy to grow. When I started everyone said they were highland to intermediate. I took a chance and was amazed mine were growing so well so I ended up buying more. I LOVE Brad's Greenhouse. Been watching him since the beginning. He's helped me out tons in the past. Congrats on the truncata x merrilliana. I like yours better than mine only because yours is pink. Mine's green in the pitchers. It only has one pitcher so far and seems to be doing ok on my patio. I may bring it inside for winter. Would be odd if it grew better indoors for me. The new lights look cool. Ha, how much does that cup weigh to keep it where you want it? Oh thank you for the shout out. I had no idea you would do that. I'm glad you like the Amorphophallus' so much. I hope they do well for you. I'm happy to send you more plants when I get extras of cool stuff.

Truncata really is an awesome species to grow for all growers regardless of experience. Brad is a super talented grower, I've also been watching him since he first uploaded about his N. Sanguinea lol. I would make sure the truncata x merrilliana doesn't see temps below 60s for too long, merrilliana is notoriously finicky with temps and humidity. The cup is also about a quarter pound or so lol. You're welcome for the shout-out, it was totally deserved! I really look forward to growing these out and seeing some flowers in the coming years. Thanks for watching!

@@eastsidetropicals5872 There is only one thing I don't like about truncata. It does not vine so you can never make cuttings from it to sell or trade or give. I also hope that this trait does not pass to the hybrids. I hope our trunc x merr will vine. Really? I haven't had problems with my merrilliana hybrids and such. I try to keep stuff out as long as I can because humidity is always high. If I bring them indoors there's not enough light and humidity. I tend to bring stuff in when it gets into the 40's. I hope the plants do well for you. Mine are the same age so it will be cool if you can get yours to flower first. We're dealing with an unknown here as you know there's no info on this species so it will be neat to see what we learn.

Thanks for watching! I've been meaning to get my hands on predatory plants' truncata, it should be a real beauty....I just don't have the space for it lol! I am a bit more biased towards lowland but if it works for you that's awesome, I hope it does well for you!

Throw in a few D. capensis seeds and you have a deal, lol! Size is the only drawback to this species, but if there was one plant I'd let take over my greenhouse this is it.
