The thing I dislike and that drives me kinda crazy in most commentaries/retelling of the events of David vs Goliath is the characterization of David as the underdog! David was young but already an accomplished warrior having fought lions and bears and other creatures in protecting his flock. Plus he had spent countless hours mastering his sling craft and was a deadeye with it. Most importantly he had a certain faith, not wishful thinking, that God would protect him and supply the victory. So confident was David that he took five smooth stones from the river...why? Because David anticipated and prepared to face not only Goliath but also his four giant brothers, should they come along. Even then, he allotted only one stone each, as he knew that was enough.

@@rontate7719 Hi, they were in fact, rocket propelled, in and of themselves. An expert slinger can propel a stone with force equal to a bullet, and David was not only an expert but also buttressed by God. Didn't need special slingstones, just skill and certain faith.

God is certainly fond of foreshadowing. Is David and Goliath symbolic of the inevitability of Christ’s victory upon His return? A reference to the war in heaven referenced in the Book of Revelation? Archangel Michael fought the devil and cast him down. This was after the devil had transformed himself into a dragon (Goliath). Ultimately, God favored David and perhaps the story of David and Goliath is simply a reminder that one cannot go against the word of God. “Who is like God?”.

King Saul was taller than most Israelites so would be a logical choice to fight Goliath. He went and hid...I don't blame him! David, who depended on God, was the victor in spite of being much smaller.

@@lorriegallardo8053in those times, Kings led the battle quite often and for a king who was a full head taller than all the Israelites (written in the Bible), he acted cowardly. We find many more times later on that he was a man of cowardice.

I think a lot of people forget about Noah's wife and the 3 daughters in law. Genetics plays a big part in our world today and each of these women could have had a lot going on genetically.

Wow, what a prayer at the end! That was a good one. It really covers everything I think about when I get confused a lot when praying. Is it a sin to steal other’s prayers or do they have to your own words? I just got my Bible off Amazon 2/days ago and these video’s help me understand it. I got the KJV version and I have some trouble with the wording. Took me 3/hrs to decide which Bible to get (there’s so many?!) and I think I should’ve gotten the ESV (easily spoken version?) but I’m going to buy another thin one that’s ESV I think

8ft 11 is tall but not like the pictures show. His brother, who David's brother slew was also a genetic anomaly of mankind with six toes and six fingers on each hand. He was probably tall and skinny like Robert Wadlow was and his ability to run was near impossible. These pictures make these anomaly men look like candidates for a body building competition.

Just done the math the handle of Goliath spear would of weighted 10 to 12 lbs at the height of Goliath being 9.9.❤ The full spear weighted 25 lb.
