I’d like to point out that a half-sibling isn’t the same as a step-sibling. Half-siblings share one parent. Steps are the children of your parent’s spouse from previous relationships. As a child from a second marriage I consider my half-siblings, aka my father’s two kids from his first marriage my siblings. We have the same dad, same last name. We’re not steps.

Yeah I realized I was using the words interchangeably when I was editing. Think I said “step part of his family” and meant the part of his family which is a result of his step father.

The thing you describe with an bird's eye display and all the pawns showing movement, industry usually calls it a camera map. Maybe you can ask some of the people from the episode if they made or still have anything like that! :)

Agreed. It's like the writer tried to delegate his job to the actors, director and camera crew instead of trying to actually write something funny. Maybe the writer is related to someone high up in NBC and that's the actual joke in the cold open.

Nepotism is in the bottom half of Office episodes for me, but The Office is in the same category as sex and pizza. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. 8 out of 10 for me.

The nepotism is wide spread problem on the regim because you like it or not besides AOC and Paul Gosar there is noone that put half of effort like them and gosar even fail on the rep. This is my favorite cold open. That is a song from my era, like 1968. It was done so well by the cast that the song seems timeless. I liked Stanley’s part. It was small, but it showed him being part of the group and having a little fun which I feel is a bit of a departure for his character. The other episodes where Stanley joined in with fun were the meatball episode and the “…and shove it up your butt” episode. 🤣

Personally, I think it kind of shows Michael hasn't grown at all. Once again the only reason he finally punishes Luke is because Luke's poor performance is affecting the coworkers' attitudes towards HIM. If there's no consequences to him personally, he really doesn't care.

Now nepotism is Objective GOOD bad for everyone else but GREAT for one self and a good way to start a generational wealth and aquire skills saying "ah but is coz of you dad or mom" is cope is bad if you don't use that opportunity lbh you have worst issues to deal with it there is no point to be fair with people is that is going to drag you down and affect your wealth

I hated the cold opening - I'd say it's probably the worst of any episode. It may be impressive that the actors, director and camera crew were able to pull it off, but it felt like a copout to me. Cold opens are meant to be funny and are probably some of the hardest content to write on The Office. This wasn't funny at all. It's like the writers were trying to outsource their job to the rest of the team this episode. 0/5.

@@MulverineNot a dig, but I believe you're being disingenuous here. There are thousands of other examples outside of politics you could have chosen. You chose the most divisive subject (politics) and the most divisive figure within that subject. There's a reason grandma always said not to bring your politics and religion to the dinner table. I don't personally care about your politics and that's the point. I wanna hear your greatly entertaining theories on the office and your overly thought out character details, those are fantastic! No one wants to hear politics anymore especially after all these years of "trump so bad" and now every second is "biden so bad... Trump so worse.." it's time to shut it off already thats the lowest hanging fruit possible and you're better than that. I like you and I like your videos normally. I also appreciate you responding and considering your viewers opinions.

Hey - I didn't take it as a dig...well...the "dislike" and the thumbs down emoji cut deep (joking). But I'm actually genuinely curious. I'm not being disingenuous or coy. It was one sentence that I could use to draw in the feelings on the topic of nepotism quickly regardless which side of the issue someone may reside. Really seems like fair territory.
