59:16 yeah but the study also said after wards that even thought the taekwondo kick had more power and speed it was still not as effective or strong as the capoeira kick because it had a higher force per volume ratio if I’m understanding it correct essentially the taekwondo kick hits its target too quick for it to transfer the full mass of the kick onto the target thus making it weaker then the capoeira kick which due to its form and slow speed allows it to transfer almost all of the kickers body mass onto the target thus increasing its force output in simple terms although taekwondo had the most power and speed behind it the capoeira kick was still stronger since it transfers more force onto the target but it should also be said that I could be interpreting it wrong and that I’m pretty the study in question is unreliable since the test subjects were not all the same height, mass, or weight which means that the results could have been skewed as the study was to figure out which of the four styles had the strongest kick meaning that if the results were affected by the participants difference in height, mass, and weight then it cannot be said that each kicks force output was entirely the cause of its technique meaning it can’t be accurately said that the style itself has the strongest kick. It is also unreliable because each participant was studied off of one kick which also means that the kicks potential force output could not be accurately measured as it is far fetched to think all four men were able to each kick at top form when given only one attempt and in reality the men should have been told to perform what they believe was the strongest kick in their style about 10-12 times to get an accurate ball park average for said kick’s speed, power, and force output and that leads to the last problem being that each style was judged off of only one kicking technique when some of the styles tested had multiple different kicking techniques so even though the participants believed the kick they performed was the strongest their style had to offer theres no scientific evidence of that being true and assuming the conscious human brain which can be easily persuaded by certain stimulus like fast and heavy movements like those found in martial arts moves is an accurate and reliable source for how strong a kick actually is, is once again a far fetched idea especially since the conscious part of the brain only directs the body’s movements but does not cause or even understand any of the internal processes that make said movements possible all that is handled by the subconscious part of the brain
