We love a tiny resin world… but especially when it’s nerdforged

I love that she adds the clock in her videos to show how long this stuff actually takes. A lot of people seem to think this stuff so easy when it takes so freaking long.

A technique I learned to minimize the bubbles around objects, is to pre-apply resin to all the objects with a paintbrush, so that u can get into all the nooks and small spaces where air gets trapped becoming bubbles later on. pre-applying the epoxy resin now on every resin based project i do, and I see no bubbles any longer. Just have to be REALLY tedious with getting resin into every light place thoroughly. and then u can poor in the epoxy at a normal pace and peace at mind!! :D Your projects are amazing btw!!!

I would love to see a transparent dragon egg, with a cute tiny dragon inside. I expect the light distortion to make it look really cool.

First, I love every one of these videos! Second: How observant am I? I've been watching her videos for over a year and JUST NOW noticed she was missing a finger. LOL Guess I've been focused on the master level talent and creativity Martina displays every time.

I guess if you wanted to build a back story to the foggy water, you could just say that the people of the village haven’t been visiting the shrine, which is why it’s covered in flora, and so the water goddess cursed them with “foggy water”. I think these pieces turned out really cool tho, and they’re super pretty!

I also think sanding down the top with appropriate sanding machine and a polishing wheel is going to give the neatest top. Both machines are table mounted and not too expensive.

i actually like that ghosting effect in the water. it makes it look more like the stream has a stronger current and is just kind of frothy.

That småhl little cottage is absolutely amazing, if it wasn't already encased in resin I'd shrink myself to visit there.

I always try to seal anything that goes into resin - basically just brush it all down with resin :) Avoids bubbles almost all the time (I don't have a pressure chamber) ...

3 ideas for the warping on these huge epoxy pours. 1) do a series of 1-2" pours. As long as the ratios are accurate then the refractive index should be the same and you shouldn't get layer lines. But most resins will warp a bit if you pour thick. Manufacturer site may have thickness guides on whatever epoxy you are using. 2) slower curing epoxy is going to heat up less and warp less. Try a slower epoxy, or adding an inhibitor that will stretch the cure time out to a week or so instead of a few days and that might help. 3) just expect warping and make them too big with the expectation that you will need to cut off the edges and sand it to a glass finish. This may be particularly good if you know that only 1 face will have a problem. But awesome work! Both of those look absolutely stunning! I've been doing some 3d printing this last year which has been fun, and my kids want me to start doing molds and epoxy for dice and things, so I'll start playing with this stuff soon! Crafting is always fun, and your channel is an inspiration!

My tip for avoiding bubbles in resin for those who don't have pressure box: coat everything with varnish before puring the resin. It stops trapped air in materials from escaping.

these are so gorgeous!! i actually kinda love that webby effect - it makes the water look frothy and alive, like you've caught mist in the air :D but that is also through a camera, so perhaps it looks a little different in person

the white misty effect in the waterwheel diorama could be looked at as misty dew fog coming off the water in early morning or late evening. it does add to the effect but I understand that it may not have been what you were looking for. call it a happy accident

The House is EPIC. I found myself asking, why not use a cylinder for the second one... and increasing the volume footprint by 15% - 20% to give it a larger viewing area.... Both are absolutely amazing. Your imagination, crafting skills and tenacity to get it done is the best I have seen WOW.... JUST WOW

It so relaxing seeing other people doing what I want to do, creating art that I want to create as well , I don't know there's something about seeing other people living my dream and enjoying it, it makes me feel like a proud mother ❤

While trying to learn to use resin, I came across nerdforge and absolutely fell in love with all of her projects. Resin ones are my favorite, but there are so many things here that I love. I really love how these came out - even the curved top kind of gives it a “found in nature” look. But as soon as you said “spider-webby look” with the modge podge I thought OMG NOW WE NEED A HAUNTED HOUSE!!

I think getting some magnification type goggles would help a lot with the miniature painting. They make it SO much easier to paint the tiny details without needing to bend over to view it on the stand alone magnifying glass. I always use them when I paint my DnD Miniatures.

I'd totally buy the fantasy shrine to put as a decoration. That thing is awesome and ticks all my boxes as a fantasy nerd. Great job on the house too, love the amount of detail you put in.

Every time I see a miniature build I am going to appreciate them more because of all the hard work put onto making these. I never knew that it required so much patience and planning.

Something you could try to avoid color bleeding, is give it a spray with some clear coat paint. Helps seal stuff up so you avoid bubbles too.

That weird curvature ontop of the cube corners is due to the fact that resin shrinks slightly during curing. If you have silicone cube molds, you could preheat the molds prior to pouring and the heat will settle the epoxy perfectly in those corners

It may be a good idea to pour more than you think you need and sand it down later to the perfect level because the additional pour is kind of obvious. Beautiful work as always!

A tip when pouring from the jug to the mold, pour it over the back of a spoon as it goes in, i found this removed most of the bubbles at the pour stage

Just gotta say, that underwater bubble incident was the happiest accident I’ve ever seen. I was so glad you couldn’t get all of the bubbles out. Especially the ones by her hand. It added so much life and magic to it all. I also find it really cool how you inspire other artists to try stuff like this hehe I keep hearing “inspired by nerdforge” which is real cool. In a lot of ways I can relate to you, and the way you handle these projects and keep going really gives me energy and inspiration. I don’t get that from many places or people so it’s really a big deal from me. I really a appreciate that. Also it’s really fun and inspiring to watch these. I’ve started to have enough energy to work on building my own artistic skills and more confidence in it too. I really am grateful for that :) Pretty sure we’re the same age lol so all the more relatable (though partly what makes me feel I need to work harder, need to catch up, the healthy competition lol keeps me actively improving). Anyway, I’ve had fun watching new and old videos and look forward to more. Also these are really cool and cute... never worked on anything like that, but this made me wanna try haha really cool idea. Great little projects! Furniture makers make straight edges by grinding their resin pieces down to its dimensions, and then polishing it. So if you make the next cube a bit taller, you could use your CNC to take the wierd top edges off, and polish it untill it gets cristal clearity.

I am binge watching your videos and it brings me so much joy. I have loved miniatures for as long as I can remember, the tiniest the better, and these resine cube are just incredibly, wonderfully detailed. It makes me wonder of the stories behind these landscapes and want to shrink in order to fit in this tiny watermill. Really, all of your videos are a delight to watch and I really want to start making my own miniatures!

These are so cool! When you have them together I think the water actually makes perfect sense. It has to be some interaction with the magical statue and wishing well. lol. I wonder if it's possible to make a tiny resin world inside.... a sphere?

It really has its own story!!! I love the spidery webby water effect, it feels like early morning mist settling in. And i love the cube concept so much- like the moment is trapped in time~

I love how this allows you to make 3d scenes!!! This makes me think you could make aa really cool scene with a portal like in Oblivion opening up on a little pasture. You could use resin with red/orange to pour to make the gate, then add it to the scene and pour the whole cube! You could probably do lots of fun 3 dimensional stuff too like add birds or dragons flying if you did a layered resin pour like in your underwater masterpiece video! Haha this is such a cool creative and cute idea now I really want to go make one! :D

Would definitely recommend Total Boat resin they do all different types and I’ve never had an issue with using it. Evan and Katelyn on KZfaq exclusively use it and they have done some very large resin projects (also they’re super funny so I would recommend checking them out anyways)

I heard using a Metal stir stick like what you would use for alcoholic beverages, helps with less bubbles as you stir the resin. I loved the way this came out
