A giant spell book really just needs... a giant spell book stand!

You could always use this book as a memoir of sorts of your projects . Like the left page have your sketches or blue prints and on the right page have pictures of the project 🤷🏻‍♀️

Listen, that right there is a family heirloom. This is the book where you draw up the plans for the projects you do on the channel (or for personal.) Then each project is immortalized in the massive "Nerdforge Sacred Tome" which becomes a history of your works done. Also, the first project you design in it should be the pedestal that it will stand on, so that you have something that makes it easy to move around and write in.

This book would be perfect for a massive art collab. Send it to artists all over the world, who then each get a page, and auction it off for charity afterwards, or something like that.

Just need a pedestal that matches your wizard room for your book. Fill it as a Journal of your projects with sketches, or family recipes, or pictures but as pencil sketches, or any visiting b artist put their own personal sketch in and sign it. Whatever you do, it's gorgeous

Dude, you should do it a collective artist piece. Ask a bunch of artist to paint a double page with a theme, sorcery or someting like that. It would ve awosme to fill those huge pages!!

This book HAS to be your Grimoire! A page for each of the projects you've worked on, with personal notes and lessons you learnt!

You could do a really detailed and intricate book of written spells and potions with ingredients, like a grimorium, it would be really incredible!

I just love that Martina said she might use the glove in the future, then went on using it in every project since then. It just melts my heart that she could create something so awesome, that actually helps her create such amazing things as this epic book 💜

For the trimming of book edges actual bookbinders use press/guillotine combo. The traditional (hand-operated) machine takes half a room of space, there is a huge flywheel which you turn to drop the blade down on the immobilized tome.

Build a sturdy stand for it, display it on your table and use it for your blueprints/ or since you used art paper. Use it as an artbook

I would love to see you make an entire series making a fantasy world in that book. Like adding creature details, spells, details on places like haunted woods etc

Wow, so my grandfather actually passed down three "massive chunkyboi" books from the 1930s (size A3, the books are collections of newspapers in more or less full form from 1930-1933) It's amazing seeing how such a book is made. Mine are not in such a good condition as yours though. Mine were stitched on the side and only included "a cover" on the front and back, not on the side; that part is purely held together by threats (it's not in a bad state, it's just that they made the cover of the side purely by stitching).

I can imagine seeing all kinds of fantasy plants/rocks/animals/cities and maps discovered in such a book, simply a huge chronicle of everything that can be found in the magical world. And all this on a huge pedestal, ideally with LED lighting. As for the spellbook, then with everything.

The book must be called "The Millenary Book" and must be passed from artist to artist to be drawn. Imagine a fantasy book with over hundreds of different arts by different artists. Simply EPIC.

Fun fact- paper quilling is a hobby that was born out of finding a use for all those paper edge bits that come from book marking. Paper quilling is also super pretty

You should invest in some Pipe Clamps or build some custom C-Clamps for all those projects you need a little more reach on your clamps for. Also Wooden C-Clamps can be pretty fun to make, would be plenty durable for most tasks, and require no welding. Also you will definitely want some kind of corner bracing for them. I used copper pipe i hammered flat Just remember every hole you drill is a new weak point in the wood. If you wanted to go for more permanent then epoxy infused wood would be a great material and you could make them more decorative.

You should use it to make a retelling of all your projects : a double page for each, with drawing of the final result, diagrams and step by step explainations. You can make a video out of catching up to now, and keep adding to it as you forge create new things

It would be very nice if Martina would make her incredible paintings in every single page and maybe write a story over the paintings.🥰

I know it would take a lot of time, but what if you made it into a fantastical spellbook or alchemist's journal? Complete with sketches of ingredients or drawings of spell circles surrounded by notes and observational paintings of magic, gems, finished potions - whatever!

I've watched a few of your videos now and loved them. I thought surely, surely watching a video about someone making a huge book couldn't be that fun... But it totally was! Awesome. Love it.

You should build a grand easel for the book! One that can hold the book in any orientation so you can do your most epic paintings in the most epic book.

You should make a series where you try to fill in all the wizard tomes and spell books you've made with paintings and scripts with runes, ect. Maybe you could even make a journal or a recipe book, or just for tips that you have learned through your journey.

I love how you use the book press on top of the coffee table to make sure it feels included 😊

You should draw sketches of all the things you made, with descriptions of them. Like where the inspiration for them came from, the steps it took to create them, stuff like that. That would be so cool

Turn the book into a Nerdforge encyclopedia!! 😃 Put in stuff about your past projects, but do it in a way to make the book feel like a photo album i.e. make the book fun to scroll through ✨✨✨

You both are so talented, I am just amazed when watching you. This book is beautiful, absolutely magnificent ! It will last for 100s of years ... Your masterpiece is a family treasure ! Maybe if you recorded everything pertinent to your family history .... if you haven't done so yet, research your 4 family ancestry lines ... maternal and paternal for each of you. Start the book off with beautiful calligraphy of your Family Trees. Be sure to leave lots of room at the bottom of each for additions. Several pages later, start recording everything you know about your ancestors, down to your parents and you two. It think this is a great way to begin this book. The rest of the book ... I have no ideas yet. But the beginning should be a beautiful, graphic, fully documented family history for each of you, as far back as you can go. Good luck ! Great for writing family history. If only I was good at calligraphy! I'm going to print my family history book and then bind it like this with my family's emblem as the centre piece. I certainly have the content to fill out this book and more, but I can successfully make it like this is another matter. I haven't seen anybody done this yet, and this is what I've been looking for for years. Thanks

Not gonna lie, each page in the spellbook seems big enough for an entire painting If you wanted to make things even harder for yourself you could attempt to fill every page with paintings

Two minutes in and it's like watching a fairy sized human make a book. This is great.

You should try using a rubber hammer to stamp the block into the leather. I used to work with leather. I used chisel and rubber hammer as well as handmade stamps. My family are native American and I was taught how to make leather and how to work with pleather, that's fake leather. I love working with leather. It's so easy to mold and control. I can shave it and press it, I also know how to condition leather for making clothes and boots. Bees wax works best for water proofing leather as well as heavy oils. I combine the two to make a very good water proof leather. 😊❤

I remember watching the Adventures of the Gummi Bears as a kid always wanting that Great Book of Gummi for myself, this strangely reminds me of that show, haven't thought of that in almost 20 years. xD

A spell book this size would be super great for a scrapbook of all your adventures and collections. Kind of like what our famous wizards had. Beautiful drawings as well especially bc they could be so highly detailed and kept collectively all in one place.

just imagining a giant wizard book with monster anatomy and facts with spells and lore, location art and things would be amazing. adding in text scrawl from little tips about the creature or useful information about something found in a location would make an amazing small series (collaboration with different artists would be amazing). Wow, that looks really amazing. I have a handmade monster like this as well but not with a leather cover (yet) but I want to redo the cover with leather. Just one tip from a bookbinder for your next book project with a round back: The front edge is supposed to have the same round shape as the back. It is shaped with one hand pulling the upper side to you and the thump pressing into the front edge and with a hammer you shape the back. After the shaping is done apply the gauze on the back and glue it again. ❤

I’ve had an idea for awhile now about a “similarly gargantuan sized book” but to make it as a sort of family heirloom journal that gets passed down through the generations and family reunions where everyone can write in… Like just imagine having a family journal that size on a book stand that can chronicle personal histories of a family for however many generations that the size of those pages can last for!!!

That's the kind of book that lives on a podium in the wizard's library and is either the index for the entire library or the family grimoire that just... never leaves it's podium. I love it so much.

Very nice build of a spell book, a couple of suggestions regarding the book cover indentations, either do the indentations before attaching to the spine OR make a clamping caul (convex edge on clamp side) and use your refular clamps at each end of the caul

Ok I've been mulling this over for a full day now and I have an EPIC idea for the THICCBOI book. It definitely gives giant spellbook vibes so why not not lean into that and make it a Grimoire? STAY WITH ME .. I promise that's not the epic part. So you give it the Grimoire aesthetic but instead of spells, potions, charms, and talismans you use it to document your most epic projects. Like including past ones. All your favorites projects and maybe ours too. 😆 But you document then spell/recipe style and list steps and materials and maybe include little margin notes or material scraps to add to the aesthetic. So it'd be like a Nerdforge how-to scrapbook that looks like a giant EPIC Grimoire. It'd be badass. And then yes you need to make it an awesome podium to sit on at all times because a book that size really does need a good place to sit and be admired. A book throne if you will.

I really enjoy the way you make books. There is one the I would love to see you make and that would be the necronomicon. I just bet it would be challenging and fun all at the same time.

You should use the book as a giant sketch book for your projects and just draw all the concept art on them! It could be like a giant history of all the cool stuff you’ve made.

You should paint the sides of your spell book like you’ve done before on other books. It would make it extra magical lol I love it tho, it’s absolutely beautiful and the craftsmanship is amazing! 🤩

Sewing signatures and headbands is honestly my favorite part. I find the cover process kinda like hitting a wall since I have no cover designs! 😅

I could see you doing epic drawings in that book, magical places, mythical plants, maybe do some writting about the place or plants you do in them. Make it like a field journal for a wizard of your fantasy. Could be stuff that was already in books you love like the Potter series or just your own made up things. I want to see your own takes on mythical things myself but you can do whatever you feel like doing in it.

Make it into a sketch book and paint the edge too!!!^-^❤ just got done watching the 300 page challenge and the edge painting one, and this hefty tome is definitely deserving of that treatment! Such a huge canvas to work on

I recommend a backpack to carry it. A portable stand to display and use it when you arrive at your destination. A stand at home that will not only fit the giant book but also maybe two to four normal sized book.

Okay this is probably my favourite project so far! You could fill it with paintings you do or make it like a compendium of all your projects over the years! That'd be epic!

I think it'd be cool if you painted and wrote a fantasy world of your own creation like for D&D or something. I'd definitely read a book of that size if it had watercolor art of monsters, places, scenery, gods, characters, and magic. I'm currently compiling a journal of the information about my fantasy world, and I think it's really fun and interesting to think things over and write about them. If you have the drive, I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy the worldbuilding journey too!

My husband and I have always wanted to make a book this size and put our families' histories in it. Marriages, deaths, religions things like that. My husband's lineage goes clear back to the tribe of the Levites. The one's who were in charge of carrying the ark of the Covenant for the Jew's in the bible. And yes, they have all those records. Because his family was super good at keeping track of their Genealogy. But we just haven't gotten around to doing it. I figured you would need massive paper. Thanks for doing this project so we can copy some of the supplies. I've been doing some of the old bordering textures that you see in books that size. It's not easy but it would be a fun lifelong project we would hope our decedents would carry on.

Now you need a big podium for it so you can look like an epic wizard with your spell book

We don't see Hansi on the channel nearly as much as Martina but every time he does show up I'm reminded just how well his energy compliments Martina's. There's a mutual chaotic vibe between them that works really well lol.

Ultimate sketchbook to plan the projects. You can put old project notes in, ribbon book markers will separate sections. You need a big stand for it.

I was just about to sit down and write my novel but Nerdforge comes first. The book is amazing! Since it's a giant book with a lot of room to play with, you could do a calligraphy series where you take your favorite passages from books and intertwine them with illustrations kinda like those big medieval books with the giant letters starting out the first word.

Respect. Nice work and now filling in all te pages with magical texts (btw I did make my own book too, 57.5x45x 6 with self made thick paper 12 years ago ) and am still writing texts & Illustrations with large letters, runes, sigils and drawings for D&D spells.

I just had an idea as Martina carried the finished book at 19:55 of her in costume, bringing this book out to a table with a group of adventurers (or their brainy members anyway) going through tomes for information on something, dragons for instance; Martina arrives at the table, drops the tome, wipes her brow, takes a deep breath...... "Oh, thank you, but we don't need that book anymore. We found what we needed." Martina hefts the book with a scowl, wanders off to put it back in safe storage, grumbling. Hmmm, maybe Joe Manganiello or Wizards of the Coast will see this and add it to their next D&D project. I know Joe is making a D&D documentary; but I recall him saying he wanted to make more D&D movies; a TV show with a recurring role for this super tome would be cool.

That's a perfect coffee table book. It would look nice mounted on a pedestal of some kind, or the wall on a custom rack / lectern. I've also used large books to hold up computer monitors or game consoles before, and that would be *far* more aesthetic for the purpose than a physics textbook. You could use it as a journal, writing down a record of each of your projects as you go along. You could collect peoples' signatures in it, or use it as a guestbook for your house. Write down anything funny you hear in it, so you can go consult it whenever you want to quote people you know -- having someone say something hilarious enough that you produce *The Tome* is a good bit in and of itself. Some people turn books into secret compartments, but that seems like it would be a waste of all the good paper you put in. I guess if you were careful how you cut it out, you could still use the cut-out bits to make a normally sized book, and then store that book inside The Tome. Get a friend who's good at calligraphy to inscribe advertisements into it, and get marketing companies to pay you for videos of pretty handwriting in The Tome. Massive sketch journal or cookbook are nice. Reference guide for bookbinding craftsmanship. Songbook, for any song that catches your eye. Gift it to the most hardcore scrapbooker you know. Gift it to one of the Green brothers and see what he does with it.

You should use it as like a “magic relic” and write down your creations as if their actual magic objects and write it in fancy using fancy sounding words + pictures

I love love love the end result. 1. How much does it weigh? 2. What if you did some crazy huge drawing/painting challenge? Or 3. What if you did a detailed picture that is layered and carved into the whole text block, so that if you look at all the pages together it makes one awesome scene.

You could totally do a year-long series where you paint/illustrate something new in the book every week . Though I understand that it would take a ton of time and effort.

Fill it up with whatever is on your mind. Pick a portion of a page and sketch something, next to it, write something, under that, plan something it's a one of a kind book. Make it even more legendary.

I would paint in it or do project sketches and then the finished product, it could be a project journal of sorts! I also like the idea of a collaborative painting book.
