The one fighter I've DMed for recently commissioned herself a Headband of Intellect... She'd apparently planned that from the moment she built the character so that she could use INT as a dump stat (that game was a point-buy for stats) without being useless out of battle. Because it's a light-hearted, very silly, just-for-lulz game, she rolls a WIS check each morning to see if she remembers to put it on, or just stuffs it in her bag while half-asleep. It's made for some fun shenanigans to have her constantly bouncing between being the smartest or dumbest in the group, since she and I are the only ones who know- the rest of the party just think she's crazy, lol.

Sapphire Buckler on a Bear Totem Barbarian. Gets her or him the psychic resistance to complete the rage kit AND the other bonuses from the buckler. Can still go armorless, even!

With regards to the tattoo rarity, I think the range of rarity levels simply need to be increased the same way they did with levels of Exhaustion. I know they want to keep some things simple, but at the same time some things also need more granularity specifically so you don't end up with 2 or more items of drastically differing power levels being considered equal.

I'm currently using a Dragon's Wrath Weapon on my fighter and is been a lot of fun. There's also so much flavor that you can add with it.

@@WolfHreda It’s a half Vedalken/half Goliath home brew that my DM helped me make. He’s a Barb 5 (Bear Totem) and Fighter 3 (Cavalier) that wields a glaive. I’m playing him as a gentle giant that has teamed up with halflings and only rages when they are in trouble.

@@Clouddog9 Nice. Mine is a Bear Totem/ Battle Master mix and she's a Duergar. Her backstory is that she's a bouncer, she uses the Unarmed Fighting style and the Eldritch Claw tattoo.

@@WolfHreda That’s awesome. I’m aiming for the Eldritch Claw Tattoo, also. Thematically, I am aiming for it to be something the Halfling Warlock talking me into. The back story of my character is he was gentle and his tribe just used him as training fodder for the battle hardened goliaths. One day, they entered him into a battle competition and gave him a glaive. With his new weapon he actually won. The chieftain gave him the task of completed two more skills based tests to earn a last name and place in the tribe. I thought this was going to be a one off character to get me used to DnD, but I have become pretty attached to him. I was thinking about battle master or champion, but when I read about proficiency on animal handling and the ability to impose disadvantage on enemies attacking anyone but you, I knew that he’d be a better cavalier.

i think eagle whistle is an underrated and under appreciated martial aid especially for monks.

One of my players had a Dragon's Wrath Full Blade on his Paladin. 2d8+2d6+Smites. I think that he did around 150+ on a critical hit once. On a different character, we got Mizzium Plate Armour for the Otter Armourer Artificer. Everyone took to calling him Otterman after that (though his name already was Ottermin).

The spellguard shield gives you advantage on saving throws and makes spell attacks have disadvantage against you, but it's also very rare vs the mantle of spell resistance's rare

Surprised no flametongue, the high amount of attacks and action surge make it a very powerful combo for a fighter.

Fire is absolutely the most resisted and easily resistance to gain so you just ask for your dm to game how effective you are each encounter.

Right now I'm playing a fighter with a pretty relaxed DM, going a totally unarmed Battlemaster that specializes in grappling with tavern brawler. I leaned into the wrestling pretty hard and he is a big wrestling fan so he gave me a Cape of the Mountebank (Dimension Door 1/day) with a luchador mask attached that could also cast Enlarge once a day. The cherry on top is that every time the Dimension Door is activated, you disappear and reappear in a puff of smoke. It's so simple but he went the extra mile and it plays a wrestling intro or a bell every time I appear in the smoke

I would dream of putting a mizzium armor on my rogue (has one of cleric) even if it would lead to a significant AC drop. However, it belongs in a setting that is not part of the organized play system I play with.

I feel like the Dragon Wrath Weapon would take the top spot only because it's got so much going on for it. +# to hit/damage, 1d6 to 3d6 damage per hit, and has a breath attack. It'd be a more niche item to pop up in your game compared to a Giant's Belt, but the value you get out of a Dragon Wrath Weapon is huge.

I have a dnd character from a Halloween oneshot who was a Enforcer Rogue Bear Barbarian multiclass who used the butcher’s bib and had a homebrew weapon that was a chainsaw. He was an absolute monster in melee combat and nothing could break through him once he was raging.

It really depends on your DM. Lvl 18 HB Sorcerer I'm in a campaign where I got access to an Artifact that was a +3 staff of power, tome of the stilled tongue, and limited Rod of lordly might ( could be a +3 finesse spear with answering and sunblade properties) needless to say I had fun with this. A questionable choice of mine relinquished it and later was given a HB Staff of the Magi variant this had none of the charged spells but it had 100 charges and you select 5 of your spells to attune to the staff. You can cast the attuned spells with a number of charges equal to spell lvl +1 if you use 10% or more of the remaining charges in the staff you roll for an unstable effect. This is a mixed blessing as one of the spells I have is Wish. So with the Artifact I essentially had 2 9th lvl spell slots. But with the current Staff if I have good rolls I can potentially have 11. Personally I am not big on HB magic items so I'm usually looking for staff of power and Staff of the Magi. So strangely I usually end up with toys that are better than what I look for but that could be because I don't usually want to many toys.

I backed black storm Realms, and compared to other (there are many) kickstarters I have back i have been quite disappointed. Hopefully your increased involvement will bring the quality up

Maybe for Lifewell Tattoo you could add some kind of healing mechanic. Like a number of d6s you can spend to heal yourself or someone else.

So I really appreciate these types of lists. I currently am in one campaign that my group is due to get back to somewhat soon and am playing a Harengon Echo Knight in Out of the Abyss. DM has sanctioned the echo being counted as a person as opposed to an object so that I can play echo knight as a rogue with a level dip in fighter. Any other specific items you would suggest to get the most out of this character being a sneak attack backstabby type of character?

Would watchful helm also be good for a drow? I mean, would it cancel out the disadvantage one gets from sunlight sensitivity so that it was a straight role at least? Just curious. I mean, it does little for me now because even rolling a 1 means I have a 10 for it which isn’t bad (considering I’m still in the lower levels) but it would be nice to not have to roll with any chance of a disadvantage if I can’t get advantage. Also the snake armor sounds good for my ranger since I have him so dexterity based. He is proficient in medium armors but most of those aren’t good for stealth so I worry about that. Another reason that makes like this item is that stealth isn’t hindered either.

One slightly disappointing aspect of the Dragon Wing Bow is that a rare Dragon’s Wrath Bow has everything it does plus the Magic +1 bonus AND the aoe on a crit

Really any class could use a dragon's wrath, it just depends on the type of weapon.

agreed, however the multiple number of attacks, plus action surge makes it better for a fighter. Weapons that increase damage are more ideal for a fighter because of the number of attacks they can routinely perform. Whereas a weapon that can increase your chance to critically hit is more ideal for a Barbarian or Rogue as they have either improved critical damage (brutal critical) or a means of increasing damage (sneak attack). Whereas a paladin at higher levels (level 11+) benefits from a bonus to hit as it has an extra 1d8 baked into all attacks via improved divine smite.
