If you watch everything that is even remotely connected to the MCU that has come out to this date (including things like the Blade Series), it takes around 550 hours. Assuming 3.5 miles per hour, that is a nice 1925 miles. That is more than the width of the USA. You might get to fill up the whole 2k with all the shows that should come out until then.

I would say the last 4 episodes of Agents of SHIELD season 5 are hard to place in the timeline because they mostly happen during Infinity War. And seasons 6 and 7 don't have to be watched before Endgame because they don't really take place in the same timeline.

I feel like putting two whole seasons of Agents of Shield between Infinity War and Endgame is the pinnacle of cruelty. I'm putting those and Helstrom at the tail end, as part of a rather massive epilogue, together with Far From Home, Venom and Deadpool 2. Could almost be a Phase 3.5/Interlude, clocking in at around 2000 hours. Other than that and breaking up Runaways into three chunks to watch with other stuff in between (and putting Guardians 2 into phase 2), my own list aligned pretty closely with yours this time around.

In my preferred viewing order I do a mix of chronological release and chronological timeline. Ultimately my viewing order concept revolves around if I were to edit the MCU into one big movie how would I do it so you can follow 30 plus movies and shows and still keep the pacing interesting. I start with Captain America the First Avenger because he is the first hero in the mcu. And then Thor so the audience knows pretty soon that there will be Cosmic elements to the following movies. Plus thor explains the history of the tesseract to this point which was a big part of the previous film and a key element of the whole phase 1. Next is Iron Man which ends with Fury telling Tony that he is part of a bigger universe that the audience has already got a glimpse of in Thor and Captain America. Next is the Incredible Hulk mainly because it has the post credit scene between Tony and Ross and it also splits up the first two Iron Man movies which drag the pacing down back to back. Next is obviously Iron Man 2 and then Avengers. Another reason I like doing thor at the beginning of the phase instead of right before Avengers is because you get introduced to Loki earlier and him being alive again in Avengers is a bigger shock compared to just having literally seen him fall into space and then next thimy he is alive with no explanation. Fitting three more movies in between the two also makes me as a viewer question how he's alive much less because more time has passed for the audience. I put Captain Marvel right after Avengers because again, it gives you a further history of the tesseract, and you get more Nick Fury who has had limited screen time throughout the series so far and fills him in as a character. It's also nice to see Agent Coulson again after he dies in avengers. Since Captain Marvel has a lot of the cosmic elements to its story and a cameo from Ronan the Accuser, next I take the whole timeline to space for a few movies with Guardians of the Galaxy, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 which immediately introduces you to Thanos after the setup in Avengers and the two movies are roller coaster rides that blend really well into one another. Next is Thor dark World which picks up with Loki in the aftermath of Avengers and brings Thor back down to earth which segways really well back into the rest of the timeline. Next I put Captain America Winter Soldier because you see the US president and the fall of Shield which leads well into Iron Man 3 when the president is almost killed and it explains why Tony couldn't call on Fury or Shield while he was going through that movie because Shield wasn't around and fury was on the run. Next is Age of Ultron which after watching Guardians and having the Infinity Stones explained already, the audience can start to see the importance of the tesseract and the mind Stone and their greater connection to the rest of the stones. Next I put Ant-Man, Civil War and black widow since it follows Romanov on the Run. Black panther goes next picking up after the assassination of his father in Civil War. Then Spider-Man homecoming, also following the aftermath of Civil War, fits nicely after Black Widow and black panther because of Peter's recap of the airport fight while BW and BP both just pick up right after the events. Next is where I put Ant-Man and the wasp, which is one of my weirdest placements in the timeline, I only place it here because Doctor Strange, Thor Ragnarok, and Infinity War flow right into endgame. Next is Far From Home as sort of an epilogue for phase 3. Next is the first batch of MCU TV shows which follow the aftermath of the snappening and Loki's Disappearance in endgame. Loki, wandavision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Then back to the movies for Shang chi, Eternals, then Hawkeye (which takes place around the same holiday season that no way home does along with the Guardians holiday special $so they both follow. Next is What If? And Moon Knight. Then Docter Strange multiverse of Madness before Mrs. Marvel because you get Xavier's cameo and then the tease of mutants in the MCU proper. Next is Thor love and thunder and Black Panther 2 because they are each an emotional one-two punch movie night of grief and moving forward. Then She-Hulk and Antman quantomanium.

@MFAniki6390

Because of their post credit rule, the post credit scene happens after The Blip so according to their rules, Black Widow would be considered a flashback for the Phase 4 marathon. Honestly, I'm okay with the post credit scenes happening out of order if the majority of the film happened at one specific point (ala The First Avenger would be my starting point) because the post credit scenes can be a fun bit of out of context foreshadowing but it's up to personal choice at the end of the day.

THE TRUE AND SIMPLE ANSWER The Marvel Universe is most effectively engaged with as a 20 Film, Four Chapter Cycle. Yes, this means a LOT of material is thrown to the side and only the best and most essential material is included, with the intention of presenting a consistent, clear and concise narrative that has a clear First chapter and a clear End. Four Chapters - Four Avengers Films Chapter One - Paramount-Marvel Studios Hybrid Logo 1. Captain America: The First Avenger 2. Iron Man 3. Iron Man 2 4. Thor 5. The Avengers 6. Iron Man 3 Chapter Two - Marvel Studios Solo Logo Version 1 1. Thor: The Dark World 2. Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 4. Avengers: Age of Ultron 5. Ant-Man 6. Captain America: Civil War Chapter Three - Marvel Studios Solo Logo Version 2/Variant Version 1. Doctor Strange 2. Captain Marvel 3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 4. Thor: Ragnarok Chapter Four 1. Black Panther 2. Ant-Man and the Wasp 3. Avengers: Infinity War 4. Avengers: Endgame SIMPLE AS THAT 20 Films - 4 Chapters of "Mini-Arcs"....4 Avengers films. Consistent Logos for every film(No Universal Studios or Sony logos to be found)....it begins and ends with Captain America. The first film has "First" in the title and the ending as "End" in the title. You also end the MCU with the final chronological appearances of essentially the three leads of the series: RDJ as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. It is also, sadly, the final chronological appearance of Stan Lee, William Hurt, and Chadwick Boseman within the MCU. It was truly the best end point the series ever reached. Going beyond has ultimately proven fruitless.

Like the show or not just because u weren’t satisfied with the show doesn’t mean that show shouldn’t be given a second chance to improve itself my take on the inhumans show is that it got canceled too soon the show had room to find it’s footing and grow and improve if fans have it the time and patience But with the toxicity and impatience of cancel culture no one gave this show the time it needed If agents of shield got canceled after one season it wouldn’t have become as awesome as we know it If only people gave inhumans that same patience to get better The show could have had the biggest glo up ever like those ugly middle school kids that grow up to become hot Agents of shield was just as panned when it came out imagine if that show got canceled after 8 episodes But sadly because of the “fans” this show will forever be stuck in it’s ugly adolescence The actors did their best with what they were given and what they had to work with they just needed a different direction No one sets out to make something bad intentionally just cuz u didn’t connect with it doesn’t mean that someone else didn’t We should be kinder to media we consume Because art is subjective Not every show gets it right at first a lot of shows need time to grow and course correct

Okay, I was mostly on board for your orders of Phases 1 and 2 (with some minor disagreements), but this order for Phase 3 is all FUBAR and I just can't get down with it. For one thing, you're jumping around between different TV shows when there's no real reason to do so. It makes just as much sense chronologically, and is far less disjointed in viewing, if you watch all the remaining Netflix shows from Jessica Jones S2 on after Agents of SHIELD Season 4, then watch Cloak & Dagger and Runaways in their entireties. But my biggest complaint is your using short post credits scenes as the basis for placing the films. It makes far more sense to place them based on when the majority of the film takes place (and this is what most other lists do). For example, most of Black Panther takes place a week after Civil War, so it should come next. Meanwhile, Spiderman, while starting out immediately after Civil War, mostly takes place a few months later during the school year, so it should come second. Again, Black Widow starts out immediately after Civil War, but mostly takes place months later and should be watched later on, either before or after Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange takes place over a long period of time, but the important part that should be the basis of placement is the battle against Dormammu, and certainly not a post credits scene that is simply repeated in a later movie. Captain Marvel takes place in 1995, but it makes sense to wait until closer to Endgame to watch it since she isn't involved until then. But placing that movie between Infinity War and Endgame completely derails the overall narrative. So I'd put it before Ant-Man 2 and Ragnarok when things start spiraling toward Infinity War. Finally, watch Ant-Man 2 first but skip the mid and post credits scenes. Then watch Ragnarok and Infinity War, then go back watch those Ant-Man 2 scenes before Endgame. This makes the most sense for how things happened. Oh and again, basing GOTG Vol.2's placement on a single post credits scene is , well, just dumb. It should go back up to Phase 2 after Vol. 1. If means that much to you, skip that one scene with teenage Groot until it's chronologically important. Finally, since Venom isn't part of any of this. just watch it after Endgame. Put it between phases 3 and 4.
@hectorminator
@hectorminator Жыл бұрын
I don't wanna ask new viewers, first time viewers, to have to stop the movie right before a scene they're not familiar with comes on and potentially spoils something like characters being dusted that will be ruined when they start watching AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and they realize, "oh I guess Thanos is gonna win because I saw three characters disappear at the end of the last one." Or that Steve Rogers awakens in the future before they watch IRON MAN or THOR or THE INCREDIBLE HULK. If you are just considering the middle, majority section of the movie, why not break it up based on timeline and just go scene by scene? Why not start with THOR: THE DARK WORLD that shows us the MCU thousands of years before anything? Then jump over to a few scenes from ETERNALS, and then back to some other movie for a few scenes there, and then back and forth? We're trying to make things *simple* for everyone. I am totally aware of what other lists do. And those other lists have already done that, so we were not just gonna repeat what others have done. If you disagree, that's totally fine, but please don't call me dumb. The work I'm putting into this isn't thoughtless, I'm putting a LOT of thought into this, thanks.

@hectorminator
@hectorminator Жыл бұрын
When you finish watching a movie, are you still in the middle of watching it? No, you're done, so the experience of watching the movie for you is a flashback. All movies play with time but ultimately, when they're done, they live in the past. So this list is ensuring when people are done, they don't have to go back in time or forward in time for any reasons if they can be avoided. If you're not using the last scene as a placement marker, why are you using a random point in the middle of the story? Why not the first frame? Why not the hour mark of every movie? Why not just hit play and pause between all stories to get the full, "true", chronological experience? Because that's not the whole movie's experience. That's not the story they chose to tell. Black Widow, the movie, includes every scene in that film, including the moving scene where Yelena pays tribute to her dead sister. That's part of the story of BLACK WIDOW. So don't deny that moment for first time viewers. Give them the entire experience. = )
