I agree, the whole Defenders line-up: Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Daredevil were sick. The Punisher was also a heavy favorite of mine too.

Ironic how Disney pushes back when called out by fans for writing Mary Sues into a Marvel/Star Wars project, but they fundamentally change the powerset of a character who LITERALLY learns skills at a superhuman level and make her new powers kinda generic.

Tyrone, they couldn't bring in the comic accurate Echo, since that would actually require skill in directing and storytelling. I mean, having the power as you described it, that would make for the perfect spy! There is so much you could do with that concept. But again.... skill.....

"I remember growing up without representation" okay, it's 2024... unless you are over the age of 50 right now, you had many, many positive Native American characters to choose from. From Tonto in the Lone Ranger to Sherriff Bravestar. Some were hokey some were products of their time, but they were there. People need to sstop using this as an excuse for a lack of quality.

They dropped the ball on EVERYTHING with this show but especially with Kingpin… my theory was that he would have been shot in the face, then brought back by the brink of death by a regeneration serum created from the Weapon X program by a mysterious benefactor (Thaddeus Ross) and then groomed to run for Mayor of NY. Then that would help introduce mutants… give a reason why he healed and a reason for him to want Echo to take over the empire after he’s in office …. Instead we got… this smh

Representation this and representation that. It shouldn't matter what the character looks like as long as they're well written. The problem is they focus on throwing any amount of "minorities" in front of the screen and claiming it's important to do so. It's not. Some of my most favourite characters don't even look like me but they're well written and have great character development. Modern film makers need to focus on that.

All the stuff with her ancestors ruined the show. The show felt very grounded and based in reality, and the whole bit with her getting powers from her ancestors who were cave creatures that magically turned into humans took me out of it.

I can think of a few Marvel Indigenous characters: Mirage, Red Wolf, Shaman, and his daughter Talisman. Red Wolf has no superpower, but he held his own against the Hulk. But Disney/Marvel would probably ruin all these characters. They made Mirage a lesbian.
