First round you can clearly hear D tell Sam he got him, Sam replied "no you didn't" and didnt call it till Niko said to. Second round same thing, even on Sams POV cam, you hear D saying "Your hit Sam"... So unless Sam is 90% deaf, theres no way he didnt hear it.

I get really competitive and into games whenever I play and when I play something with friends like nerf I tend to get easily triggered by people who don't play sportsmanlike. I really have the urge to not call hits but I feel like I have to even though I would love to lie.

Yeah that was weird. But Nerf darts don't hit as hard as Airsoft BBs, and while dodging and escaping, he might've not felt it. But he still should've gone down if D said he hit him, which he clearly did. I'm glad Sam explains why he does that in one of these videos. Not a very good reason, but I respect him for trying.

Anna Akana what are your thoughts on how Sam was acting? Personally I like all of Node, and my name is Sam too so by law he has to be in my top three favorites. The first time he didn't call it it looked like he was hit in the hood so I didn't care that much but when he did it again and no one else got hit I thought it was too much. As an airsofter I know what it's like to have your adrenaline pumping and things don't hurt as much but you can still feel them.

He is a director, his life is full of acting.

He didn't cheat. He genuinely did not think he was hit, the first time makes that extremely obvious. The dart hit his hood, not anywhere on his body. There's no way he would have been able to tell so he didn't think he was hit and when people told him the bullet landed he didn't argue and just sat down. He's extremely competitive and may get salty from time to time but I don't see any cheating. He may hate losing but he doesn't cheat to win.

I hope sam reads these and sees the minority of the people saying that he never calls his hits Check any airsoft game he calls his hits and he was just really having like a tunnel vision moment where he is really into the game

it could be an idea, but i'm not sure he's cheating, tunnel vision and adrenaline as well as weir hits(even the secnd was a bit weird) can make you genuinely not feel hits even when they seem obvious from the shooter's perspective, i just know it sucks to know you've not called a hit of yours unwillingly and becalled on it, and you litterally cannot do anything to make up for what you did(or raher, didn't do)

truthfully if you get really immersed in the game the feeling of a foam dart hit as you're running and moving around, you'll probably don't feel or notice it. Also i can tell how sam plays, he has tunnel vision like one of my friend. aka full immersion. so its understandable that it happened. its not like things got heat from it.

Another detail to note, is the first hit was on the Go-Pro so it is unlikely he felt that or it felt like just the weight of the go pro. The second hit was from a far range, so the actual feel of the impact was probably too light to notice. He does seem to have a bit of tunnel vision going though. He need to focus a little more on keeping an ear out for people calling him hit. Overall ya can't really blame him too much, it's easy to get excited in a game with a lot of action and being 1 hit out. Sometimes our human nature gets the best of us. Side note: You really gotta love Anna's effort to diffuse the situation and the awkward air. That takes not always an easy thing to do.
