Coaches like Zidane and Ancelotti primarily play the 433 tactic with one DM pivot, aka Alonso & Casemiro, and two CMs (one is a regista aka Kroos who controls the tempo and is a long & short pass master, and one is a box2box midfielder, a technical maestro with a high workrate who’s good offensively and defensively, aka Modric). In this tactic, the striker has to have playmaker qualities and fall back sometimes to fill that vacant CAM position and assist either of the two deadly wingers at his disposal or get everyone else into play. Benzema fits this profile perfectly and he’s been the perfect partner for Ronaldo. One is the best playmaker striker and the other is the deadliest finisher of the decade. Zidane is yet to find a player that can match what Benzema does for the team and that’s why he’s a starter in every game! Benzema in the last season and in this season actually stepped up and took responsibility for Real Madrid attack and didn’t cowardly turn away like Bale, Vasquez and Asensio who couldn't tow the cart. This player should be given the respect that he deserves because he gives his heart for the team and was a cornerstone in every achievement since 2009 to date.

What a duo they were. Sometimes it was a traditional winger -striker partnership with cr7 sending crosses into the box for benzema . Other times Benzema would drop deep so Cr7 could cut inside and he would assist him from there. They both were excellent at counter-attacking .
