We continue our dive into the basics of Netcode for Entities. The DOTS Character Controller package is a highly customizable, physics-based character controller designed from the ground up to take full advantage of Unity ECS. We will be going through what it takes to adapt this package for Netcode with Entities.

Thanks for these helpful videos I was really searching for such a tutorials but cannot find. I will be really happy if you continued doing these amazing videos. I am a new subscriber I am really interested in unity ecs and I would like to see more and more videos about it and about netcode for entities.

Can I use NetCode For Entities for Monobehaviour? Since DOTS still doesn't have animations and IK, I think the easiest thing to do is to use the standard Animator and Animation Rigging to create a character, but I'm not sure if this can all be synchronized in NetCode For Entities. I am planning to create a fully procedural control using Animation Rigging as I have not found any tools to work with IK in DOTS, do you know anything on this topic, how can I implement this using DOTS? I had an idea to implement my own logic for IK by just rotating the character's bones, but I'm not sure if it would work, but in theory this way you could completely synchronize all the control on the server, since you could transfer the positions of the bones and their rotation.

Yea. That would be part of the hybrid approach. The problem is you lose all the benefits of DOTS with that method.

I know this is old, but; for anyone reading this, yes it's completely possible. Simply link an Entity with a LocalToWorld to your MonoBehaviour and follow it. Also, Rukhanka animation library is great
