Easily one of the most overlooked anime of the past few years. For it's quality and presentation it's not being talked about by nearly enough people. PLUTO is the passion piece of Madhouse co-founder and MAPPA founder Producer Masao Maruyama that has been battling to manage a release for nearly a decade. He started a new studio with the idea of releasing this as his final project, and as a piece to respect Osamu Tezuka's legacy. Even with so few workers and basically no backing for a good part of the production, he aimed to make what is essentially 24+ eps worth of content into a final product that was visually strong on the whole.

It's crazy how many great mangas Naoki Urasawa has under his belt ( Monster, Pluto, Billy Bat, 20th century boys)
