The shots you showed are quite shocking and made me extremely uneasy... This is not acceptable for a movie and this is not normal in the French culture either. Some of the girls in that contest could not have been more than 5 or 6, they had them dressed in the same outfits with a ton of makeup and doing the SAME moves. Even if the film was supposed to be about the dangers of sexualization, they didn't actually NEED to sexualize the actresses. They could have just instantly cut the camera to the audience or whomever they were performing for and have their expressions and dialogue imply what is happening. The actresses then wouldn't even have to do anything since they would be offscreen. This is one of those cases where the director SHOULD have broken the rule of "show don't tell."
