Less than stellar cartoons being desired, and the recent live-action output ranges from hokey manga adaptions (He's Expecting) to what I can describe as "The Real World" with dopamine-hopped teenagers (Hype House) sounds like Discovery's strategy for live action and Warner's cartoon strategy, excluding the manga adaptions (but I expect that's more because Japanese exports have boomed in popularity recently).

could you do a video on the decline of the CW and their recent “red wedding” of cancellations?

The way that I see it, Netflix is setting itself up for its demise. I mean, this is the same thing that Cartoon Network did, and it never recovered. So, get ready to say goodbye to the streaming services.

It also doesn't help that thanks to the Warner/Discovery merger that CN just lost their CEO and he was only there for 2 years. It's a dark time.

The potential demise of Netflix would certainly lead to shaky ground for all the newer streaming services looking to replicate its success, and seriously bring into question the justification for these expensive launches (and the gutting of their traditional businesses to finance and operate them). Netflix needs to fix it or else it will have low ratings on Netflix and then they will have no choice but to shut it DOWN!!! This is bad!

Nickelodeon dealing with Netflix was a disaster. They should have stayed on Hulu. And besides that. Netflix is now infamous for cancelling shows, instead they are keeping woke movies like Cuties. Why would netflix do this to us. It was good until 2018 Them cancelled bones, the creator of El Tigre's creator tv show was also a big L

5:12 i thought in this part you're going to mention Nickelodeon since that channel was decaying so fast that it's surprising that still exists. from the channel that was Nick with the old Fairly oddparents, Spongebob, My Life As A Teenage Robot, Invasor Zim, etc. they went quickly into mediocrity by Making Spongebob the base goal for every show and if it's not it's cancelled prematurely or if succeeded it will squish the show for more content and make it worse in quality like fairly oddparents. and also they went full on sitcoms and stuff that also went down in quality. but yeah, Netflix it's becoming a disaster.

Nick has its own long-standing strategic issues, and I'm not trying to minimize them, but I feel they're at least doing much better on content; in my eyes, Cartoon Network suffers from issues with both at the moment. Compare and contrast these looks at their performance in 2020 (I don't have a 2021 set produced just yet): Cartoon Network: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rdhgeMZ2xLadhGw.html Nickelodeon: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kL-XpLKYneDHmpc.html Thank you for watching this video!

Are you ever gonna do a video on the current quality decline of kidcoms and the better live action kids shows not getting the same respect and attention as animated kids shows like The Loud House or The Owl House? I feel like Disney and Nickelodeon killed the reputation of live action kids shows and that older audiences won't take them seriously until this Percy Jackson show releases.
@benzj

While I disagree with the idea of a decline in quality as of late, the state of live-action kids' TV is definitely something worth talking about, and I do try to give it some space on my channel wherever I can (see my review of _That Girl Lay Lay_ from last fall or my discussion of Nick's _The Astronauts_ in the 2020 year-in-review, for instance). Nick's still maintaining a strong position in the medium and I feel Disney Channel's working to build back some of my trust -- not to mention Cartoon Network themselves now have plans for live-action fare. It's almost certainly a topic that deserves its own video at some point, honestly, though it's not in the pipeline at this moment. Thank you for watching this video!

@@benzj Just so you know, there are some exceptions, but most of those exceptions are either barely advertised, cancelled or quietly cancelled. Meanwhile, I've largely avoided shows that looked really bad like Gabby Duran, Coop and Cami, Danger Force, Young Dylan and Legendary Dudas. I've seen three episodes of Just Roll With It and wasn't impressed. I refuse to watch Bunk'd to give Disney power to continue it. I saw the Lay Lay pilot and immediately didn't like it. Raven's Home is a mixed bag in the fifth season. I got tired of seeing bad kidcoms and went to streaming for better live action kids shows. I finished Theodosia season 1 on HBO Max which was a decent show. It's made by the same company that made H2O and I definitely get the same feel for that show. I can't find any confirmation that it's getting another season and I think they deserve it. I also saw Best Worst Weekend Ever from Netflix and I don't think I laughed this hard watching a recent kidcom since Good Luck Charlie ended! I never saw The Hangover but the guy who co wrote that movie created this show. Maybe that's what the live action kids show industry needs, writers who worked on adult stuff making kids stuff! I dont care if I'm in my 20s, if I'm able to enjoy Amphibia or Big City Greens, I should be able live action kids shows with the same quality. Edit: Secrets of Sulphur Springs and Side Hustle are all we have left for good live action kids shows on cable. Tho, Side Hustle's crossover episode had me want to check out Warped since the two characters, Milo and Ruby, were one of the highlights of the episode. And also Power Rangers since it's arguably the most popular live action kids show of all time. I never got into it and was more into kidcoms. And ironically, there are more bad or mediocre kidcoms than ever and I want to see a different type of live action kids show. I just don't know where to start. I've asked the comment section for The Disney Brain's Power Rangers videos for suggestions and no one ever answers.

@@AJ-xc4qeI disagree. Gabby Duran was honestly a really great series, while not perfect, it still managed to have some heart in it's premise, a teenager (Kylie Cantrall) trying to find her way into the babysitting world, and then figures out that there is alien babysitting organization up in space, you gotta admit it is a cool promise for a series! Shows need to have that kind of premise more often, especially live-action kids shows! They need to do something in space with the main characters doing something cool! When you have space, most of the time, no matter how bad or good the show is, you have me sold! Coop and Cami, I also disagree with being bad, I wouldn't say it's bad per say, more so, it's just not for everyone, but I liked it, them asking the world "would you rather?" questions and getting requests from fans to do them! It's pretty fun and hilarious! I mean, it did have it's issues, like using outdated memes sometimes, and a little cringey social media jokes, but overall, it was a fun series! Both didn't do well in the second runs and were canceled right after that! It's a shame, but it's not hard to see why, the ratings were declining and nobody was watching them! But now that Disney+ is a thing, Disney can use that platform to premiere new episodes of Disney Channel originals on the platform the next day after they air so that way they can make money from the streams on Disney+!
