no matter how many times I watch this scene,it always breaks my heart and make me cry. Seven deadly sins is easily the best anime and I am glad that I watched it and now that the anime has ended,every scene just hits completely different

Let's not forget Elizabeth has one too because she had to be separated from Melinda's again and again, while also losing both of her parents who didn't even care about her

I’ve watched this 5 times and their backstory is just sad. Being put on a spell by the Demon King and the Supreme Deity. Meliodas’s curse is eternal life Elizabeth’s curse is infinite reincarnation and resurrection. He met the same Elizabeth 106 times because when she get all of her memories back, she unexpectedly dies. That’s just downright sad.

What makes it even sadder is that meliodas had absolutely no way out of it. In season 2, when Elizabeth sees the past, meliodas tells the old grand Master that he has tried everything to kill himself, but nothing worked. So not only has his life been basically an endless hell with no way out, but his trial was basically that but rapid fire

atleast in some ending elizabeth died without remembering who mel is and also grew old in deathbed ( seen in a flashback where mel was driving the carriage for one of elizabeth incarnations) . It's one of those things, what hurts more know or past memories or without it?@@darpanpatel3303

I know how exactly Meliodas feels. I know it's silly but watching my very favorite characters just die and come back is great. But the death was what makes me feel weak in the chest for no reason it just scared me so much. I even experienced this in reality too because there was this boy who looked exactly like Meliodas and was just like him. I just can't forget about him or stop thinking of him. I have no one to confide with so I always put it in the google docs just so that I could imagine him there and that'll just cure me...

This truly is one of my favourite moments, perhaps favourite moment in all of anime, as much as I love dragonball, jujutsu Kaisen and all the other great ones, the music, emotions and just overall struggle in this scene is just next level, the event of losing a loved one is something relatable to almost everyone and the fact Meliodas went through this multiple times is just such a tragic story, cry almost everytime I watch this scene because it reminds me always of how nothing is eternal, and one should always cherish the moments and time you have with the people around you whom you love, because they won’t be there forever

Una domanda, sai perché Meliodas impazzisce solo con la morte di Liz? Ogni volta che vede Elizabeth morire diventa arrabbiato e depresso ma non ha mai perso il controllo, nemmeno con la prima Elizabeth, quando lei è morta lui non sapeva che si sarebbe reincarnata quindi era convinto che l’avesse persa per sempre, eppure l’unica con cui perde il controllo solo con Liz. La morte di Liz era diversa dalle altre? Non mi ricordo se l’hanno spiegato nell’anime ma non ho ancora capito

After I found out about Meliodas and Elizabeth backstory Liz’s death left me some questions Meliodas become angry and depressed every time he sees Elizabeth die but he lost his rage only with Liz death. Since the beginning of the anime Liz death was show like the most traumatic death for Meliodas and he ended up losing control and destroying danafor, like if he lost her for the first time, so my question is why didn’t this happen when he lost Elizabeth for the first time. The first time he didn’t knew that Elizabeth would reincarnate so he thought he lost her forever then he finds out and watch Elizabeth die over and over but with the others he just became angry and depressed while with Liz he goes completely out of mind. I don’t understand why, was Liz death different from the others, even the druids use Liz death as a test instead of the first Elizabeth and Meliodas keeps losing control and cries. I don’t remember if it was explain in the anime but I don’t understand

Perhaps because he just can't take it anymore. Liz was perhaps the incarnation that he loved so much because of how she always loved him and spent all of her life with him. So when she died, Melindas just had enough with losing Elizabeth and couldn't take it anymore..

He tried holding himself together every time, but Liz was his breaking point. I'm pretty sure in season 3 episode that reveals his backstory, he says something like "I don't know how much more of this I can take" before releasing all his power

It was multiple things. As the person above said, it was like his breaking point. Not only that, but her death was different. It wasn’t from her regaining her memories and an “accident” occurring because of it, it wasn’t old age, and it wasn’t a normal tragic death with her not remembering. This death was caused by fraudrin(?) and stabbed her in the heart. It wasn’t like the others and it was none other than one of the commandments. Those from his past destroying his life. Not only that, but Fraudrin destroyed his kingdom and basically destroyed his world all so suddenly. He likely lost a lot of good friends from murder and the places he spent so happily with that Elizabeth all just destroyed.

Suchhhhhh a good scene/moment....that they ruined later on with the reincarnation plot. I don't mind the Liz/elizabeth reincarnation, in fact, I like stuff like that. But this is such a powerfull scene, the music, the emotion. It shows that Liz was such an important person to meliodas. Liz! Liz was a different person from Elizabeth (the hair and all is proof of that). Meliodas made an entire kingdom disappear, because LIZ was the love of his life. Later on they bring the Elizabeth reincarnation over 3000 years plot and I dont like it. It ruins Liz and just makes her "another one" (and the fact that all the other elizabeths have the same hair, shows that it wasn't really thought out). This scene proofs that Liz was THE ONE, there was no reincarnation beyond present Elizabeth. But they just had to ruin it..
