Thought it was a little over edited but totally understandable with the time restrictions and limited amount of extras. However it wasn't confusing and you could see what was happening so it was much better than most full budget studio films can do when they over edit so well done.

The nice part of this kind of movie is that it's more about style and technical achievement, kind of like an olympic sport. It's not trying to make any claims to worth debating. So if the style is not your cup of tea, don't even bother finishing it, move onto something you actually find entertaining, and don't waste your time commenting on social media about how it is not for you.

Great video, the fight was very well done! One piece of feedback though: the way the video started talking about how crazy the oner was made it sound like your goal was to create your own chaotic oner. When the short film started and kept cutting I was left confused until I realized you were just going for a chaotic fight, not a chaotic oner.

It's so amazing to watch you all grow. I've been a long time watcher of your channel and you all were already ahead of the curve when you started. Now though, now you you guys have become legit titans in the indie/quality movie space that can be (and has been) recognized FAR FAR outside the realm of enthusiasts. I absolutely love how well all your channels merge together, and though we see the same people and hear the same voices - it's just so damned entertaining that it just doesn't get old. Thank you so much for these 100's of hours of entertainment that I got to enjoy all these years. I'm very excited to see how all that you have in store for us, and appreciate all you have already done. This video was outstanding. In the time you all had to do it, and a culmination of all that had been learned in these years analyzing scenes and having lunches with the current titans of the industry - This short was extremely high quality. High enough quality that if you had the budget and time, fully producing a Corridor Digital movie and releasing it to theatres would be a sure hit.

I think as others have said, its a bit over edited, but it was so good for the time it took. Some of my favourite shots was Nikos shoulder barge, and when Gui was on a mission and just cut down people with his power. I wish the throw Niko done over the table was followed, like Sam said, if you would have followed that, get more chaios, you could have followed Nikos hand to the throw and took the camera man over the table with him, or something along them lines, or if Niko was knocked down, follow that movement down and show Nikos face while planning his next move. But all of this is coming from someone who has no idea what they are talking about, and doesnt have the tools to make anything, so you guys are amazing,

Okay Niko, one little nitpick about acting: Don't fix your beanie while in the middle of a fight sequence. 😅 I wonder why no one mentioned that while you were shooting. Otherwise, I mean... this is pretty good! Fun stuff! As a professional sound designer I do feel that people don't properly try to marry added sound effects with location dialogue recordings - in this short there's the problem of two different acoustics - the location vocals and dialogue have a lot of reverb and echo, and the added FX are mostly very dry and acoustics-less. Bringing those two extremes closer to each other is what makes the sound design feel consistent and makes the FX not to stand out the wrong way. This was a big issue for me in The Raid: Redemption for example.
@SpoonerTV
@SpoonerTV 11 ай бұрын
What would be the best way to marry both?
@jcp1984again
@jcp1984again 11 ай бұрын
@@SpoonerTV , there's no one single solution, but processing the dialogue edits the way that takes some of the excessive reverbs away - not too much - is a start. Then processing the added and post-recorded sound FX in a way that adds the feeling of distance and space - slight EQ-ing, slight reverb plugin processing (it can be challenging to match the reverb of the real location - that's why it's good to add this reverb slightly to the dialogue mix as well) gets you a long way. Then cutting and processing your FX in a way that emphasizes their "experienced perspectives" - have close-up punches play with less reverb, fuller bass and let the FX that happen further back to play with more reverb for example - that's the magic when it comes to modern action sound design.
