that character has clearly been written to pander to indians, with him being written as badass and honorable.

This is exactly what I’ve been saying to people all around me but ig people are too dumb to understand the big picture behind this.

But you can also take this in a positive way. Dhanush can now get many more Hollywood projects and may have attracted some directors. This will also motivate many more people in India who are trying to get into Hollywood. Postive way of thinking 🙂

So they should just have an all white cast then, right? I mean, why not have him? He got to showcase some of his work and a lot of people were impressed with him. I know I'll be looking into some of his movies now. Contract killers to come after the main character are rarely ever fullly fleshed out characters in a movie like this lol.

The idea for Dhanush in the film is the hope for a future project if possible. Look beyond this film they trying to set up a spin off without saying it out loud

At least he dont need to dance and sing behind coconut trees like in most of his indian movies, just be grateful that any of your indian actors are in any hollyhood movies at all

I disagree with you I think Dhanush was played great in this movie. There wasn’t enough room to add more story to his character but a spinoff and a sequel shot is more than we can ask right now

That’s why they leave him alive tho, for the potential sequel or spin offs and then make him a bigger character, do this lost of times, introduce a interesting character barely give him much to do in the first one and the sequel give him development and a good story

The Main intention of including Dhanush in this movie IMO is to get more Indian audience, and the more they praise about Dhanush, it's more promotion in India. Indians are big suckers for foreign validation.

Dhanush's real name is Venkatesh Prabhu. He is credited as Dhanush in movies, which is just his professional name. This is a very common trait among Tamil actors, just like how Rajinikanth's real name is Shivaji Rao Gaikward or Suriya's real name is Saravanan
