I can never get enough of this movie. Sure, it has a fair share of cringe and illogical stuff. Yet, it is a masterpiece of sorts. I mean, if anyone could conceive an idea for a romantic song wherein the man proposes to the woman he loves by citing that she's the Eighth Wonder of the World, by actually picking 7 iconic monuments across the world, going there, shooting the scenes and making it a picturesque and a memorable song for us 90's kids in particular, it has got to be S. Shankar. I mean, could this get any more romantic? He is one of the directors who can make a song (A.R. Rahman's beautiful compositions in particular) epic, a visual treat for the viewers. This wasn't even thought of by any director from Bollywood at that time. In, fact the lyrics were written for Aishwarya Rai who was, is and always will be Miss World and the Eight wonder if the world.

I still remember the first time I watched this movie in Bangalore with my family. It was in the year 1998. I was 9 years old and I was so excited when my mom told me that we were going to watch the movie in a theatre. Kino Theater, Sheshadripuram, Evening show. Pure nostalgia!

The revisit was more of sarcasm than paying a tribute to this legendary film. These kids must have been toddlers when the movie was released. I was 15 when the movie was released and still remember the visual effects people talked about for months. It was an inspiration for many directors who introduced visual effects in their movies. overall it was very cringy to watch.

I still love the movie!!! It does have a lot of cringe 🤪 but it's a total fun and entertaining film!!! But you guys didn't showcase the actual epic scenes like Lakshmi's criminal plot twist, Radhika, SVS, etc I once danced for the Hai rabba song when I was very little and for the lyric "Europe-il kudipuguvom" (we will live in Europe), I mimicked drinking water (For the non-tamils: Kudi has 2 meanings, one means let's live, whereas I thought it means drinking water) 😂 It's still a famous inside joke in the family.

I am a 90 born and Jeans is my forever top favourite! Yeah there could be flaws, but when you love something truly, you love it's flaws too! And Jeans is forever my first love ❤️ I felt bad for these guys, that they are of this generation, miles away from how love, romance and sensibilities used to be back in 90s. It's not like getting into bed as soon as you see someone in a pub. It's much healthier and better anyday. I absolutely condemn that this gen kids don't even deserve to judge this movie. Whatever! Sankar , is the most technically sound director of our generation, the way he brought in technology into films is unmatched. He used/showed holography in this movie, brought cg characters in boys and prosthetics in i, others might have done it but he does the best, the vfx in his movies is top notch... I'm telling this as a vfx artist ...

I had my last 10th std public exam the very same day, when this movie was released. I guess it was April 1998. I still remember the poster too which was published in thinathandhi. Prashanth was lying on the floor and kept his legs up where Ash leaned on feet 🥰.

I felt like most of them were not respectful its a 90’ tamil movie so obviously our taste have changed since then .. but they kept being playful and laughing about silly details like tamil movies now were any better LOL. Some movie are still very unlogical but I felt like they wanted to act like « I DOnT WaTchE CriNgeY ShoW » and some even said they never watched this masterpiece like lol girl lie better next time
