I love how a) it’s such a triumphant version of We Are and b) it rises out of the LA title theme before changing back into it to end highlighting that this is a new show all its own but it carries the soul of the original with it

@@leespn4396Absolutely. The close up shots with wide angle lens for absolutely no reasons are so bafflingly weird. Also, they should change some scenes that are too over the top with something more subtle, like Luffy saying YES WE WILL! During Nami's scene. It worked in the manga but came off a bit too cringy in the LA. A more subtle serious nod would work, like how they made Sanji say goodbye to Zeff instead of doing a full on Dogeza. Besides that, it's freaking perfect.

I love that they saved the title shot with Luffy's jolly roger (with the straw hat on) until the very last episode, at the end of it. The Strawhat crew was finally - and only - complete then, and it felt completely well earned. We were all cheering with Luffy. Netflix did the impossible this time. I feel like the success of this show is just like when Luffy one day proves that the One Piece is real by succeeding at the impossible.

Holy shit! We are gave me chills! This netflix OPLA is giving the manga/anime justice. From the casts, the whole team show runners with all the easter eggs, using outfits from cover pages of the manga to this soundtrack. This is how you make an anime adaptation you honour the source material!

One of the biggest reasons I loved One Piece is that it’s so inclusive…as a kid, I was constantly excluded from a lot of things, but the chorus of We Are! said “There’s always room for you, if you want to be my friend.” Luffy spinning his hat, grinning at us, the viewer, and inviting each and every one of us to be a Strawhat Pirate and join in the adventure. Keep your inclusivity away from One Piece. We have too many shows that are inclusive and yet poor and bad. If everything is for everyone so it menas that it is for noone. Not everything has to be for everyone. Because producers do not understand it, we have so many shity shows in recent years - they are made so everyone can identify. And as it is impossible they turn out bad. Producers of One Piece understand it that is why it turn out so good.

I love how instead of just making "We Are" the theme of the show they made their own new theme for it but still included "We Are" in it. It perfectly captures what the show itself did. Rather than copying One Piece it's trying to tell the story of One Piece through a different pair of eyes while still being One Piece enough that you can recognize it 😄

I’m really glad they added a rendition of We Are because besides being the first opening of One Piece and a legendary one at that, it’s instrumentals have been used as a theme song since the beginning to present day as a theme for the anime, as the theme song for One Piece itself. So the fact that they added We Are made me all smiley and giddy inside like a kid on Christmas fr and I can’t wait to watch the OPLA and experience it but also introduce my parents to the world and story of One Piece since they know I watch the anime and it’s about pirates but now they can experience more of what it’s like through this show so I’m pumped for a variety of reasons 😁👍🔥

Iam a total One piece noob and never got sucked in to the hype. Thought the live action was just gotta be yet another dissapointing anime live action adaptation. But after finished watching the live action series, iam glad to be proven incredibly wrong. The live action made me a fan and iam looking forward for future seasons. My son is 10 years old, and I've hit the point where he is choosing stuff to watch. I found a way to watch the anime with him. I've had such a happy time. "We Are" is our happy song. We are (pardon the pun) now 100 episodes into the anime, and I'm sloop happy for the fun times watching it with my boy. Listen to your kids people, get into their interests, cultivate it, grow it, and you'll have a grin as big as Luffy when he sees a big stash of food! And look after your friends!

The OPLA surely did its job in making One Piece known to a broader audiences. I've seen new fans that started the manga and anime because of the live action, its crazy to think that a few years ago these same people wouldn't even try to read and watch it because of the amount of episodes and chapters but after seeing an abridged version of the first saga, they are now fans

It was pretty cool, just saw 1st ep i was giggling all the way through, the guy who played luffy is good, also wasn't expecting the poke in the eye scene to be that graphic but i saw the self-harm in the description so i was expecting it hoping the scene later on with nami is just as good, also story wise i like it, slightly different to the manga/anime but the overall story the same

If I’m being completely honest, I had little faith when watching this for the first time. Companies these days are using Live Actions as a way to get more money, but this changed my mind like nothing else did. They did everything about this show perfect, from the actors to the music. Safe to say I’m super excited for season 2

Despite "We Are" the most popular opening. I hope other opening songs like "Believe in Wonderland", "Hikari E" and many others can be included as well to represent each arc/seasons. Since Season 2 may be based on Loguetown arc, i hope "Believe in Wonderland" can be played in the same vein as "We Are"
