Cosmo Jarvis is an amazing actor. He completely transforms for his roles, like personality wise, mannerisms, everything. And all of his characters are so completely different from how he is as an actual person. Quite incredible. Glad Shogun is getting him all the attention. No doubt awards await.

I love Dakota Johnson, she just doesn't fit this part at all from what I see in the clip. I will watch it all because I'm a fan and hope that I'm wrong.

She was too modern in it and the other characters were too comedic. I wish they took it seriously. Anne should be a melancholic person. This is another Anna Karenina disaster.

I can't understand why they felt the need to change the dialogue. The original is so good and it is clear the three actors would have done it proud with this type of chemistry. Why modernize it so much? And having Anne come across all feminist is so strange. If she had been so forthright in those views she would have never let Fredrick go in the first place. I'm going to go watch 1995 again. Even 2007 (which is condensed to a 90 min film) doesn't mess with Austen's words this much.

To me, the joy of Jane Austin is her prose. No film has ever really captured it. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It has great drama and a quirky sense of humor all it’s own. Dakota was so much fun to watch. The big surprise was Cosmo Jarvis. Why was this strange funny musician even considered for the role of a Regency Romantic lead? What an unlikely choice. He was riveting. He was damn near perfect.. Who knew?

This looks appalling. Only Henry Golding seems to have got the memo regarding his character. Dakota's Anne is a clown and Cosmo Jarvis is just criminally boring. Where is the chemistry? The longing? Ugh.

It's horrible! There's no Austen spirit in it! 2007 version is the best adaptation....it captured the atmosphere of the book and made the characters described by Jane come to life! ... And as for the actors Rupert and Sally they were magnificent! So restrained and subtle in their acting ...so dignified! And their chimistry was obvious

The so-called Anne Elliot in this movie is a sassy, wide-cracking Boss of a woman hailing from post-Me,Too but who finds herself surrounded mainly by fools. She has passed up on the love of her life and is in a funk where she mainly rolls her eyes and swigs wine. All she can expect from life is to marry her cousin and when he succeeds yo the baronet's title, she will be Lady Elliot. I kid you not. What I have just said is an accurate summary of this movie. Really.

Well considering in this adaptation they use phrases like "we're exes", "he's a 10" and "I'm an empath", I don't think they were aiming to replicate accurate dialogue, but instead pander it to TikTok audiences 😵‍💫

It had potential. Great cinematography, costume, etc, but whoever wrote this screenplay must have not read the novel. I love adaptations and those that are loosely based such a Bridget Jones, but this was trying to be Fleabag?

In my opnon this series is not a Jane Austen adaptation, but it s Friends the american series of the 90s to begin with those men were not that competitive about Anne, Frtederick yes was jealous but was not put aside by the other...All i all these things happens when the book is misunderstood, I m sure this is a romantic novel but is far from being Jane Austen's

I don't want to be unpolite but Cosmo is really not that interested in the movie. His acting is also a little weird, I had to put on dubbing because his voice sounds really strange. Zero chemistry with Dakota.

I see this clip and wonder if the point here is supposed to be that Mr. Elliot and Anne have decided they are a couple? Why? And how does that support the story the movie is telling? A story, by the way, that has nothing to do with the book written by Jane Austen. I just find myself flabbergasted and slightly outraged that whoever decided to commandeer the name of Austen's book did not take the time to read it apparently. I don't know why. It's free on the internet. And it does not take a long time to read. It's like someone looked at the title and decided -- I don't know what! Apologies for my mini-rant.

How do you watch this movie and think them casting Henry Goulding was the problem, of all things
