So is orbi better I saw it on sale for one satélite for $339 and two satilites for $399 I live in a 2700 sq ft house and we have signal issues and kids use wifi for gaming streaming Netflix. I was thinking getting this device or an orbi wat do u recommend? Ur speeds are not high at all. I pay for 300mbps but I get over 400 wifi. However that’s online in that one room once I leave it’s bad all over the house
@AwesomeTuBees Жыл бұрын
I recommend Netgear Nighthawk over Orbi because of the price. To me Nighthawk is more reliable.
@drummer75578 ай бұрын
I have the Netgear Orbi Mesh ones and they have been just okay when it comes to coverage. Now running an Ethernet cable from the router, yeah nearly gig speed. Which has been very impressive. But the wireless is wearing out. So i may go for this as it's wifi 6 and this is not. We'll see.

I do have a couple of questions on this what is the difference between this and a regular router for starters and as far as dual band does the item automatically connect to the band for example smart home stuff that only works with 2.4 versus stuff like Playstation and rokus etc that work on 5ghz
@AwesomeTuBees Жыл бұрын
Faster wifi 6 technology, better internet coverage for your home, multiple devices can connect to this router at the same time without or minimal slow down. 2.4ghz older devices and 5ghz for newer TV and video game systems and newer phones

I have a question that I can’t seem to find an answer for anywhere on the internet. If I already have a Nighthawk router can all 3 of these be used as satellites or does the main one still need to be connected to my router wired??
@yournamehere47908 ай бұрын
It has to be a Mesh WiFi 6 model and yes the actual router has to be connected to the modem. Afaik the satellites aren’t compatible with regular Nighthawk routers. They’re not compatible with my regular Nighthawk router at least.

I have had nothing but problems with this system. I also bought it at Costco and will probably bring it back. First of all, app is not very useful, very limited functionality. I added 2 additional satellites and they do not work as I expected. Unfortunately, they do not play well with Ring or Kasa TP-Link switches and plugs. I have a Ring alarm, multiple cameras and they randomly go offline multiple times a day. Very unreliable, Netgear support was great but I am probably going to return it if I still can and sell the second set I bought for the extra satellites from Amazon. Very disappointed, according to Netgear, Ring devices do not work well with Mesh systems. I have to get with Ring support before I buy another. This system was supposed to replace my Apple Airport Extremes but I went and set my old Apple AirPort Extreme network back up and everything is working great. I wish Apple didn't discontinue their routers, they just work all the time. But, to reiterate, Netgear support was very good, answered the phone, spent as much time as necessary and I appreciated their person to person support.
