Cyberpunk Lore and Cyberpunk World discovery time now..as we enter the world of The Netrunner! We can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red, so join us to discover everything about Netrunners and Netrunning in the existing Cyberpunk 2020 universe, and how it may feed into the Cyberpunk 2077 lore and world!

There's nothing more Cyberpunk to many than the idea of diving through the net, plugged in, as a Netrunner! Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have an awesome cyberpunk world and lore and story, in most part thanks to the awesome Cyberpunk 2020 universe from the R.Talsorian Games and Mike Pondsmith pen and paper RPG!
In this video, we explore what a Netrunner is, how they navigate the Net (and what it is!) in the Cyberpunk world, introduce famous Netrunners of Cyberpunk Lore, and take a look at what Netrunning might look like in Cyberpunk 2077! Hammeh yeah Id love for you guys to go into the history of night city/america and how it got to where it is, Ive read it in one of the source books I bought from the people who made the table top games but I would LOVE for you all to make a video on it because this was fantastic

This describes the Net better than any other source I've read so far, cool stuff. Ngl I was thinking in 2077 netrunning would be like camping outside an enemy hideout and shifting into the net, then you'd literally dance around them in netspace quickhacking them and maybe there would be another netrunner trying to stop you. What could have been :']

@@Hammeh Personally, I'm incredibly excited. Easily the one game I'm the most excited to play in the next year or so. I think something to explore further (you did so in this video) in future videos (and this will likely become more of a thing when the game is out) is the possible differences in the worlds between the established pen and paper world vs the game world, since they are somewhat parallel story lines and not necessarily extensions. A deep dive into the character classes is perfect, especially helpful for getting people excited about the game AND possibly getting people excited about the pen and paper version. I love the usage of cyberpunk/night city colloquialisms. I'm loving the little "glitchy" audio edits as well. I have so much more. Haha.

Absolutely - when the game is out, will definitely have a look into that. At the moment, 2077 is based in the world, moved on from 2020 and the subsequence TRPG game releases. Also, there's Cyberpunk RED in August - the new TRPG/pen and paper which will help fill in a few of the gaps between 2020 and 2077, by the sounds. Any thoughts on whether this should stay here, or go on another channel? :)

Hammeh Hammeh Really excited for Cyberpunk Red. Been learning to play/DM a shadowrun game for me and my friends but it’s so hard to want to do that when Red lurks around the corner. As for a different channel or not... that’s a tough question. Not necessarily because I’m swayed one way or the other, but because I’m unsure of the implications. I don’t know enough about KZfaq and it’s algorithms to know if a separate channel will introduce more growth, which is what I’d want for you! If that’s what you want, lol. As Cyberpunk gets closer, hopefully your videos will get a lot more traction. Obviously the content on this channel varies, but I’m unsure of the analytics behind it and how much it ripples through the rest of your channel. UGH. I just want people to enjoy your work, it’s quality stuff.

Definitely excited to see what kind of character I can make and build. I've been getting into the cyberpunk genre recently, so being able to craft my own character with their own sci-fi-esque skills and abilities sounds like fun.

The class system sounds like it'll be fairly fluid - spec/respec between netrunner/techy/solo type stats, so it should be very fun!

Props for useing WOTC Netrunner card art and FFG LCG Netrunner card art. Also those looking for a CP genre rpg fix might wanna look into FFG's Genesy's Android Shadoe of the Beanstalk.

I hope they will keep the netrunning world relatively secret before launch. They have stated that night city is more vertical than widespread. My speculation is that this is not only meant physically but also digitally and will provide a surprising amount of depth in the later parts of the game

Damn, netrunning could have been so much cooler and had much better gameplay. The gun fighting and other combat in the game is so good in comparison. Using quick Hacks in the game seem very lackluster in comparison.

Reading the Cyberpunk Red boxed set will give you a much better view of what net running will be like in 2077 than this. It’s not their fault though-this was made several months before that came out.

Hah, ain''t they just! Well: I really enjoyed that little aspect of "role playing" while you were recruiting the rookies. In-universe storytelling is a very efficient and fun way to let fans, new or experienced, in on the fun. My favourite example is TheVolgun, who reads SCP documents as if he were a doctor at a research site. Transitions are really smooth, footage usage helps a lot, even though it's not per say from the same universe... There's honestly nothing bad I can call out here.

Why would anyone make a network algorithm like this? It slows down the speed so much to take tons of information and convert it to visuals. It would be much faster to just use typical UNIX shells, since they don't have to waste time rendering stuff

There might be no difference in sending 10kB or 10TB of data since the bandwidth is so advanced it will basically take the same amount of time to transfer, the same goes for rendering power. Also think of this network as a terminal with improved GUI, with accessible entry but harder to finally hack into something

True, but it's explained in the source material that it's done this way to improve the user's reaction speed. "What would you react to faster, the word "demon" on a screen or an actual 12 foot tall fire-spitting demon standing in front of you".

Good news then - CDPR have said "Free DLC/Expansions/DRM Free? "Expect nothing less."" And...Microtransactions? "In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?" They have a track record of good, expansive DLC from the Witcher 3. So - your fears don't have to be fears!
