Hi Jarod 🙂 Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it. I completely agree that sunlight does affect some of the nutrients within nettles. However sun dried nettles still retain enough nutrients to be beneficial to horses and it is a great place for people to start. When people start collecting and drying it doesn't have to be perfect, not having a dehydrator or a place inside to dry plants shouldn't discourage people from giving it a go. So if drying outside on a sunny day is the only way available, I think that's ok. Both the person and the horse will benefit in the long run. Do you have a dedicated space to dry herbs? I would love to hear which are you favourite or go to herbs 😊

It depends on how well it was dried and how clean and dry the jar is. If the jar is pristine and the nettles well dried then generally it can be stored for a good year or two :)

Hi 🙂 There's nothing to say you can't collect, dry and store if nettles are visible. The only issue would be the nutritional content. Spring is the best time to collect as the nutrition is at it's highest but I collect throughout the growing period as my herd love and benefit from dried nettles so much, I have to keep up with the demand!

Hi, thanks for watching the video. I would not recommend using mouldy nettles. might be worth checking what caused them to become mouldy, was it something to do with the container used? were they fully dried before they were stored? was there an issue with the nettles themselves before they were dried and stored? I hope you have better luck this year ☺️

Thanks for your reply, I air dry them and store them in 1 gal plastic zip lock bags, will change to glass containers
