+rAzi ImAm (bAd BoY) GN3 and Packet Tracer are different products for different purposes. Agree that GNS3 is much more professional and you can feel working with real device! Planned to create some tutorial based on GNS3 - hope to find free time! :) Thanks for the comment... please follow and share my channel among your techie friends.

Can you share the cli for this? My only problem now is the 2nd and 3rd switch cannot ping the server ip. And my 2 pc cannot receive the dhcp ip.

Is there a way to configure RSTP on multiple switches at once?
@SASiteNet Жыл бұрын
A central management tools such as Ansible would be a great solution to configure multiple devices.
@gogsi025 жыл бұрын
ok , great demo! But I have a question . I have the same configuration on GNS3 and I use IOU switches. The convergence in gns3 is much slower `~35 sec for RSTP. When I try it on Packet tracer it works much faster. The only difference is that in gns3 I used Ethernet ports and in Packet Tracer - FastEhternet. Everything else is by default. Ideas ?

I would like to know if its possible for sw0 and sw2 ports going to sw1 to be DESIGNATED ports. so, ping from pc0 will go straight to sw2 and pc1 to sw0?
@SASiteNet7 жыл бұрын
In this scenario, S1 is Root Bridge, so S0 and S2 need Root Port to reach to RB. by the way in all cases ping from PC0 goes directly to S2 and ping from PC1 goes directly to S0, don't forget, PC0 and PC1 are direct host connected to the switches. they only need to go to RB if want to access to the Server. I hope this answer your question.

is there a way to force a port to be designated port? like in your scenario, port of S2 and S0 going to S1 be DESIGNATED. so both switches S2 and S0 will be the default route of their respective PCs going to S1?

Beside the quicker convergence time in RSTP, is it taking higher bandwidth than STP or Same?
@SASiteNet7 жыл бұрын
Technically there is not much difference in bandwidth term. both protocols have few overhead on your LAN environment.
