Kristina Mkhitaryan from Russia sings "Regnava nel silenzio" from Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti in the Final Concert of NEUE STIMMEN 2013. Kristina won the 3rd Prize. Recorded on October 12, 2013 in Gütersloh, Germany.

Why in the world do people think it's the singer's fault that the ENTIRE orchestra also just changes keys up and down throughout the video...? How would the singer possibly have control over that?

Such a pity of the technical problems. Kristina is a fabulous singer, she won the first prize in the Queen Sonja International Music Competition the same year.

This is recording absolutely ridiculous. It doesn't make you folks look good and it's unfair to the singer and orchestra. If you have a "cleaner recording" that doesn't have all of these wonky issues as you point out in your description, then you should take down this video and make a new clip from the other recording. All you'd need to do is make a duplicate of the original video file, then just crop off the footage before this performance and the remaining footage after, leaving only this performance behind, intact with excellent fidelity.

Point taken, but when we uploaded the video back then on the day after the 2013 final, we wanted to provide videos to all arias so that no singer gets excluded. You will probably understand that with the large amount of videos that were produced and uploaded back then, we respectively our video producer could not provide a cleaner copy (cut out of the complete recording of the concert) on short notice. Deleting a video after it has already been shared by other users in social media is also rarely a good solution because the links would be broken then. And since the complete recording of the final concert provides clean sound, we considered this a good solution for all who want to hear this aria in a clear version. So, all in all, we ask for your understanding. (fw)

Thank you for being so reasonable in your response to me, as I certainly didn't deserve it. I reread my post and realized that I came off like an ASS! When I said "absolutely ridiculous", I meant it in the most humorous way possible, like how Mr. Bean is absolutely ridiculous! I may have had a strong reaction because I was upset by some folks on here who were being critical of the singer, when in fact, it wasn't a reflection of her ability at all. I understand why you posted the video as such and I apologize for the tone of my first post. Having said all that, I don't disagree with what I was trying to say (but I do disagree with my tone!). I still think cropping the original is a good way to get a better clip than what's currently available. What good is a clip if it can't be used to show off her incredible talent?! She is very good.

Measured at modern standards this solid. But measured at the real standard this is terrible. She lacks many fundamental skills. Phonation, resonance, clean execution of vocal tricks. Singing has declined.

It’s just some machinations with the sound, which I believe has been changed or adjusted because of singer’s failures 🤦🏼‍♀️ she has terrible problems with her singing technique
