Thanks for video. Are you floor decoupling the sub using the foam pad shown in the video? Did you notice any noticeable advantages? Also did u perceive any deep bass slight loss in favor of upper bass gain or the tonal characteristics remain the same? Thanks again Cheers

Yes, I use the pad to decouple the sub from the floor. The overall tonal balance sounds very balanced using the MA1 alignment system.

Can you turn the MA1 alignment On and Off while your mixing? So you could hear how it sounds without any alignment at all Thanks:)

No, that does not work. The settings will be saved on your subwoofer and there is no option to turn it off and on.

Thanks for replying! How do you compare the overall sound with MA1 and without it? Are the speakers more accurate? I'm asking cuz i have the same setup ( kh120s + kh750 ) and was thinking to buy MA1 as well. Thanks

@@crea1337 The only way to judge the results is by ear and the MA1 measurement. The graphs will show you how the frequency curves looked before and after. In my case the difference was pretty significant so I was able to hear it.

@@chimerastate Hey, i have one more question. After the alignment is done did you you leave the kh750 on "network" or switched it back to local? I got the MA1 couple of days ago and tired it. Even before the alignment when i put the kh750 to "network" the bass level goes so low...I could definitely hear the difference on my kh120s after the alignment is done but the bass still stays so low. Thanks:)

Hi Chimera State, thanks for doing this video-really helpful. I would have like to have seen you do a walkthrough of how you connected Kh 120’s to the KH750 sub using xlr connections etc and your audio interface too. Could you explain exactly how you did this please in order to use alignment software etc, as I am slightly confused?! Many thanks in advance

Thank you so much. Happy to help you. You need to connect your stereo monitors via XLR to the subwoofer and the subwoofer to your audio interface. I use the SPDIF connection of the subwoofer to connect it to the SPDIF connection on my audio interface.

@@chimerastate That’s great! Really appreciate you getting back to me. So that’s 1. XLR outs on KH750 sub to XLR input KH120? 2. Output audio interface (in my case the Apollo Twin) into input XLR KH750 sub or using digital connection as you mentioned. Is that correct? Thanks once again

Thanks for this. iPhone does great recordings, but does analyze music and push it back, the thing I’m noticing is lack in mids… Can you (if you do this again,) choose a variety of genres, EDM has emphasis on lows and highs. Thank you!

No, I didn’t. What I like about the MA1 is that it is all engineered and developed by Neumann which I trust to know their speakers best.

Danke für das review. Frage: bei den KH 120 A funktioniert das nur in Verbindung mit dem Sub, richtig? Bin ein Fan von Raumeinmessung. Mache ich momentan nur mit einem AV Receiver und 5.1, aber da sind die Ergebnisse auch eindrucksvoll. Bekommt man mit akustischem Raum-Treatment kaum hin - und dieses Raum-Treatment ist auch sehr viel aufwendiger.

Hi Chimera State Considering the manual of KH 310, where it says that your ears should be at the point between the tweeter and the midwoofer. Then the height of the microphone during the measurement should be this height or the direction of the tweeter which is higher than the listening point? Thanks

I would place the microphone at the same level your ears would be at when listening to music.

Hello, I use a pair of kh310 connected to 750 to calibrate. After calibration, I save the parameters and then close the software. After unplugging the network cable, is the calibration parameter written into the subwoofer dsp? I don’t need to connect the network cable every time I use it. Hello there, I have returned to this video as it is very helpful👍🏾. I already have the KH80’s and would really like to get the kh750 sub. However, I also have the MA1, but are you able to turn off/bypass sub without the software? Or once set up is the sub always on? Thanks in advance:-).

You can turn off the power on the back of the sub or use a power strip with an on/off button. That’s how I do it.

@@riasure There is also the Neumann App, which allows you to turn on/off the sub. I am not sure if it overwrites the MA1 settings though.

I was just researching this and it appears that it might in fact overwrite the MA1 settings, which is a shame, as that would have been the perfect solution! I believe Neumann are working on this so that this will not be the case going forward, but for now it is unfortunately and so I eagerly await this update.

Hallo! Danke für das Video! Kannst du mir zwei Fragen beantworten? Kann man den Sub nach dem Einmessvorgang, also im normalen Studiobetrieb, mit der Software ein- und ausschalten und solo abhören? Falls ja, laufen die KH 120 dann wieder linear? Und ich habe nicht verstanden, was der Unterschied zwischen Neumann Control App und Automatic Monitor Aligment ist. Grüße Armin

Leider kann man mit der Software nur einmessen, aber nicht die Monitore steuern. Das wiederum macht die Neumann Control App, die aber wiederum die Einstellungen des MA1 Alignment überschreibt. Ich denke zukünftig wird es hier Updates geben, um das Zusammenspiel zu verbessern.

Doesn't seem like you placed your iPhone in the Sweetspot for the non-MA1 recording, though, so of course the MA1 samples will sound clearer. Thanks for the effort of making the video, however.

any idea why the allignment software sees my subwoofer as Left Subwoofer? I have the same setup: from the interface i go into my monitor controller, from my monitor controller to the sub, then from the sub into my kh120a

You can setup a stereo pair of subwoofers as well as just one.

@@raresionela2 No, there is no switch. I don't remember that particular step. I know it showed me to place the subwoofer on the left or right of my main monitor speakers.

@@chimerastate well, I emailed Neumann asking about this. The thing is, the sub does not even play the frequency sweep while calibrating. But outside their software, it works, I can hear it. The calibration is not working which is weird!
