"A Thousand Deaths" by Jack London tells the story of a man who is experimented upon by his scientist father after being picked up at sea, presumed dead. The father, seeking to conquer death, uses the protagonist as his test subject, repeatedly killing and bringing him back to life. Throughout the process, the son experiences a range of sensations and visions, from terrifying to sublime, as he crosses the boundary between life and death multiple times.
