Copyright means the year the brand got submitted not necessarily the year it got released. So the catalog most likely released in 95. But the publishing itself was submitted in 94. Hope this make sense. English is my second language.

I had some WCW Figures back in the day. It was around 1994 or 1995 when they came out. I remember having Harlem Heat, Nasty Boys, Hogan, Savage, Flair, Giant, Vader, Alex Wright, Sgt. Craig Pitbull Pittman, Sting, Big Bubba Rogers and Kevin Sullivan. They were LJN style figures. Didn’t talk but they were kind of cool because I had the LJN collection growing up. I may have had a couple of other figures from that set but I can’t recall. I did NOT ever remember seeing a Shark or Renegade figure though. Very interesting.

I had the series 1 Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair (purple gear) when I was around 12 years old. I gave them away to my cousin with 99% of my other childhood toys, which I really regret. I have a pretty hefty vintage toy collection now, but the only one I have from this line is a MOC series 2 Hogan so far. This set is reasonably priced for the most part, so I might try to acquire more of them.

May not remember correctly but seems like I remember 3 variant Flair figures. Purple, Blue, and Red trunks. Hogan had yellow/red and black/white variants. Maybe even had a red outfit and yellow headband variant as well. Only ever saw two variant paint Savages, yellow/red and black/white pre match gear. I collected a lot of these when the were just coming out around 95.

In 94 Tenta was Avalanche. He didn't start doing the Shark gimmick til early 95. So its more than likely the catalogs from 95.

Yes, that catalog absolutely was from 1995. As occasionally happens with publications, the prior year’s copyright was used most likely because (late) 1994 was the year when that particular toy line was patented and officially launched, even though the first wave of figures didn’t hit store shelves until the first or second quarter of 1995. I could go on forever about the wrestlers/characters who should have been made in that particular “LJN” style instead of the ridiculous number of repainted figures they released. And I absolutely hated the smaller, pathetic, cheap-looking junk molds that OSFTM transitioned to in 1997. The LJN-style line should have continued through 1999.

This is so weird. The copyright must be December 94 because Randy Savage didn’t leave WWF until November ‘94.

Both the Renegade and Shark debuted as characters in 1995. So that catalog is dated wrong.

The date is just the previous years copyright. Its a 95 print.

Wouldn’t it be more likely that all these were just 2up’s for modeling in the catalog? Would make a better photo especially with non glossy paint, and if it was a toy fare catalog in the early 90’s wouldn’t they have been used to gauge interest? If nothing else at least one of Shark and Renegade existed, 2up or not, at some point. The new Holy Grail.

Shark, renegade and giant are all from 95 that catalog is from late 95 almost 96

Later on, in 99, Lex Luger was released in his 1995 gear. It could be that was one of the 9 mentioned that wasn't released.

Actually, the LJN-style Luger figure (which is awesome, by the way!), came out in 1997, and that was the same “gear” Lex wore around that time as well-that is, plain black tights, white boots, and his hair pulled back in a ponytail. He maintained that look on and off again for several years.

The fact that barely anyone remembered about this catalogue's existence and how it "predicted" The Giant's debut in WCW one year in advance makes it feels like it came from a Mandela Effect kind of alternate dimension.

Wait are yall saying that you have never seen those figures...i have a shark figure from years ago in my attic somewhere. I got it at a wcw Saturday night show around 95-96. Im almost positive it was one of those ljn style figures. Some short fat guy was throwing them out in the crowd. I wanted the hogan and was mad because I got the shark. It wasnt in a package like at the store. It was just wrapped up in a plastic bag. Ill try to find it...im pretty sure its still up in the attic.

I knew it was only a matter of time till some prototypes were found from this line. I absolutely loved these figures as a kid. Still have a collection of them today. I'm missing Luger though. But, still. Those figures are freaking sweet! I always wanted to see a "Stunning" Steve Austin, a Guardian Angel, and a Bunkhouse Buck in this line. There were so many toyetic guys that should've been made during this time period.
