Some old lady accidentally dialed 911 right at the beginning of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto. Everyone but her could hear it, and she started getting death glares. Once she finally realized what had happened, she proceeded to talk loudly to the operator. All while the poor soloist was playing one of the most beautiful memories of all time. So awful.

In the first Queen Elisabeth final a phone of an audience went off like around the cadenza for FOUR TIMES! Like... How?

Once I was in a full orchestra rehearsal and a kid in the French horn section was playing on his phone while the director was working with another section. Even so, she ended up catching him playing on his phone and confiscated it. It was lowkey scary

is there a specific reason why they bring hand bags? or is it just a culture thing?

Harpist need a tool for tuning and the tuner. Those things are not big enough to justify a hand bag on stage though. It's rare that the orchestra or band manager allows them especially during the concert.

We can't tuck our strings in an inside jacket pocket. A full set of harp strings, plus wire cutters and clippers, takes up enough space to warrant a tote bag much less a purse.
