I have never seen a supermarket with a Sommelier. My supermarket has a security guard to prevent theft of the wine.

How much does being open for a long period of time affect the flavor when cooking with the wine? I routinely put a half drank bottle of pinot grigio in my refrigerator and forget about it. I'll use it when cooking sometimes weeks later and the food still has a great wine flavor.

Good stuff. Here in Finland we have monopoly in alcohol seller, called "Alko" . Maybe they use the same strategy?

The main thing about monopolies are taxes. The price totally depends on it

I feel that this video had a lot of potential, but the structure was poor. If I were a supermarket shopper I’d be really confused. Do I want to drink the wine soon, as in it’s already cold, but maybe it’s going in my cellar that I don’t have, drink local because of tax breaks, but also somehow have an understanding of the relative climatic effects on wine. This video seems like a lot of WSET Level 3 concepts thrown together with no clear message. Your knowledge is really good, but you need to really narrow things down in order to create a video for consumers.

The idea that local products are not as expensive because of land and transportation costs is false. TAXES, not location, dictate the price you pay. It's cheaper to buy scotch whisky in Spain than in edinburg, period.
