@@kevinelrod323 Have you read anything on him or just throwing out gibberish because he was a Roman Emperor which clearly makes him a bad person or whatever people want to say. He didn't enjoy the gladiator fights, he talks about how he cannot comprehend why people enjoy such things. They called him a bore because he was more worried about the empire than the fights. He said in his meditations how he could not understand why a gladiator would want to go back into the ring when clearly already injured. I'm pretty sure he changed the fights also so they weren't using deadly weapons. Imagine thinking that having a mentor is terrible. Don't Surgeons have mentors when they're in residency? So we should not have attending surgeons stand right next to residents to guide them during surgery, we should just let them learn it with no guidance. What a stupid idea. Looks to me like you need someone to whisper in your ear.

@@sunkintree No not at all. Quite the opposite actually. It makes me think a couple different things. ANY man that had the power that Aurelius had & for him to have a common man to whisper in his ear to remind him not to get the big head & think he is something or someone more than a man is incredible & telling of how our minds can get out of control if we aren't very careful. Mike Tyson did an interview a year or so ago & he said, “Sometimes I get in my head and think I'm somebody and I'm easily offended. When I remember I'm nobody I could never be offended."

Practical application of given knowledge 1) Never complain :-Think and meditate on what best you can do in a given situation. 2) Never explain - If you have big goals or you want to change something radically then most people may not understand u so better focus your energy on manifesting your desires into reality rather than explaining people about why you r doing what u r doing. Difference between complaining and shedding a light on an issue you perceive as wrong. You explain so others may understand. If they don’t, you tried but it is out of your control if they reject or cannot understand. If you come from a place of strength and morality, people will elevate their esteem of you.

That really makes sense. Complaining opens the door to loser-victim mentality, and makes you think others owe you something. It makes you blame others and consequently lose your grip and control on your life, when you're the one that is always in charge.

The ones who repress themselves & suffer in silence because they don’t want to “complain” & “be a victim” accomplish what exactly?incurable cancers, high blood pressures & heart problems etc. But hey at least they didn’t complain, & they’re not victims & they’re so “in charge” that they will beat their health issues with the same mentality that caused them.

People in certain jobs in corporate environments and stuff tend to do well when compliment and support the leadership. Even if you fake it it might be worth it if you stay in the job because just acting like you are happy and upbeat will rub off and you a little bit and they will probably support you more and give you a raise and put you in management someday just because they think that you like them. You're disposable to them but they can also be disposable to you but it's best for everyone to either actually get along or at least pretend to... some will say you are so loud but when you're buying their dinner you can tell them to suck it

Bailing water seems to me to me a more fitting metaphor for life than simply sitting around in lifeboats waiting.

Don't complain. Not even to yourself. You want uplifting, practical & realistic self -dialogue. Not negative induced dialogue that is like a rock being thrown at you & your momentum. Complaining does open the door to loser and/or victim mentality and it might prompt a person to believe that someone owes you something. You don't want to blame others either. That isn't realistic. What is realistic is: YOU ARE WHERE YOUR THOUGHTS TAKE YOU.

Eh, I wouldn't say so. If you do it may be a bonus, but not necessary. If the other person wants to jump into his conclusions without knowing what is actually going on, but only guessing, then you don't need to do anything. He should just ask. Jumping to subjective conclusions (which are influenced by the feelings of one) is one of the most effective ways of ruining communication.

That quote is suitable for indonesian people. Many Indonesian are easy going when they make appointment, they tend to come late.. when he or she arrives, they will complain why he/she is late and start explaining why he/she is late. I feel so grateful that I never complain and never explain especially when I come late.

Yes!!! This takes practice but once you unlock the value of this it becomes easier to stay consistent. One exception for me is and I wish I could get feedback from Dr. Green if this can slide, is stories that are actually funny
