My algorithm is telling me to start smoking cigars.

My algorithm wants be to do two things; smoke cigars, and drink yerba mate.

Fire insurance is a must lol

I usually smoke outside, when done I stomp it out with my foot like a cigarette. LOL

I’m no genius but I learned this through experience. I finally realized that simply setting the cigar down in my ashtray is the best and cleanest way to extinguish the cigar. This video is excellent information and I hope it will help others to better enjoy their cigar smoking experience.

I appreciate that advice Sir. I usually smoke outside in my balcony because of my children. But now they my children are visiting family for the summer and will smoke inside on occasions. I now know to allow it to extinguish itself.

Snuffing it out literally means to extinguish it. It doesn’t burn longer that makes zero sense.

Been smoking cigars for a few years, still consider myself a novice, but I can say I've never snuffed a cigar out. Thankfully I have some knowledgeable people who got me into the hobby 😅

Blow the smoke out of the front before you do this! Clear out the tobacco so it doesn’t get ‘stale’ smoke left in the wrap

a friend did it to my 150e stone ash tray, he left a mark on it that i will never forget XD

I usually clip it a bit beneath the ash. That way, I have a clean start when I go back to it.

OCD unfortunately does not afford one the luxury of assuming it went or will go out by itself.

Not sure if smoking inside odour is the primary concern. Causing a fire is. Put sand in the ash tray. Stops ash marks when cleaning

You don’t even have to do this. I just hold it and take a few puffs every so often and it still goes out on its own. 😂

There’s another cigar etiquette reasoning to do this. A cigar is handmade and another person who has e craftsmanship to create this took the time to make it, you can respect their work by just leaving it and letting it burn out.

If I’m ever caught in a situation where I can’t smoke the full length of the cigar, will the cigar be ruined? Will I be able to re-light it at another time to finish it? If so, what should be the proper care for the cigar until I’m able to return to it again?

Do you guys purge your cigars before you set them down? I do that ONLY when I’m letting them go out and I may relight them in an hour or so. I’ve heard the smoke in the cigar will go stale and affect it during a relight…

I usually take a couple huge puffs before I place my cigar in an ash tray and then leave it on my buddys porch when his wife is away for the night so when she gets home she asks him about since she hates him smoking them at home
