The real context: My Way is so popular in Philippines it became one of the most played song on the karaoke. People will be fighting over it because they thought their song / turn to sing is being taken away by others. Unknowingly that they have picked the same song and there's actually multiple "My Way" in queu. Some fights goes out of hand resulting to fatalities as it usually happens in ktv bars.

The "My Way" killings are a social phenomenon in the Philippines, referring to a number of fatal disputes which arose due to the singing of the song "My Way", popularized by Frank Sinatra,in karaoke bars (more commonly known as "videoke" in the Philippines). A New York Times article estimated the number of killings to be at least six as of 2010. Between 2002 and 2012, numerous people were killed for singing this song. As a Filipino...im glad you survive 9 days☠️ Im amazed,that's good 😊

Word of advise: If you’re tone deaf, NEVER sing My Way in Karaoke Bars in the Philippines where there are other people, drunk or otherwise, listening while you sing your heart out. It might be your last. But if it’s just a private party with friends then it’s fine, you can murder the song and still walk out of the building alive. 😂

Its actually just a myth. Story: 1 dude was drunk in a bar and sang "My way" he sang it so badly the gaurd got annoyed and shot the dude. No you wont die if you sing it badly. It only happened once (not really) Its just a myth. My way isnt cursed of anything. But who won't get annoyed at bad singing? "Reasonable" reasons why people got killed: No it isnt cursed but there are some reason and its pretty natural and realistic.but stupid. 1.people singing it over and over (Causing annoyance and majority of pinoys are always drunk and have guns) 2.bad singing (Same explanation with number 1) 3.Fighting over the song (Result of frustration causing the drunk guy to shoot the victim) No curses.just stupidness.

I think most ppl already knew that. (Unless you're dense or stupid AF, then you'll think it's real) It's pretty much just a superstition built over time.

@jesterballeta3674 Жыл бұрын
That's why it's been banned and removed in many different karaoke machines by the government because due to the intense killings caused by it from the years of 2002 going to 2012, people and officials think the song has a curse in the country when sung disrespectfully and not quite good to the audiences that listens...

Ikr, and it's fucking annoying. But doesn't it have a time limit for Karaokes now? 8 or 9 pm here in our place I think. My mom doesn't like it when our neighbors keep the karaoke on beyond 8 pm, reasonable as many ppl had already come home from work that time already and wants to rest. So mom would call the cops on them so they would stop.
