When there is a functioning version of the band with the founding lead guitarist (and namesake) and classic lead singer, it's bullshit for a drummer (not a founding member) to create their own version of said band. It's a cover band. Nothing wrong with being a cover band. I was in one for years. However, you don't call it L.A. GUNS.

That's not quite what happened. La Guns backed out over a couple reasons. First they were slotted to go on really early before the real crowds even got there. They felt after 7 appearances at M3, and coming off a great album and touring another brand new album they should be slotted higher on the line up. Which is true. They were slotted in a place reserved for B rate reunions or bands that haven't been active in years etc. And Phil and Tracii etc stated when touring they're on a routine schedule where they play at night, not during the afternoon. If you've ever done shows night after night taking the stage between 8-9 pm, then told you have to hit the stage in the early afternoon the next day, you'd be unhappy w/ that as well. This has happened a couple times w/ M3, like everyone opening for KIX.. what a joke. Only reason Kix closes out the festival is cause it's in their home town.. it should be called, Kix fest.. But like Phil and Tracii said, they love the festival, they love the fans, they just don't like the time slot. And that was all fine, but the promoter, promoted LA Guns on the bill anyway.. It took some calls from LA Guns (Phil and Tracii's) mgr to get him to specify it was Rileys LA Guns. Phil felt the promoter was using the name without being clear as to what the fans were getting. He said many times he was fine w/ Riley playing under the name, he wasn't fine w/ the promoter using the name without specifying which LA Guns.. That's business.

The drummer is Steven Riley the original drummer of LA Guns that's the only original member in this video

Steve put up with Chris Van Dahl, Ralph Saenz and Jizzy Pearl when Phil left and then he put up with Chris Holmes, Kerri Kelli, Stacey Blades, and Johnny Monaco when Tracii left. Lord knows I'm not naming everyone. I'm also not going to even attempt to name all the bass players. If Phil and Tracii want to do their thing then cool and maybe Steve is difficult to work with, I really don't know. But if he wants to do this and CAN then more power to him.

If nobody told me this wasn't the original guys, I wouldn't know. They're tattooed long-haired and middle-aged playing Never Enough and Electric Gypsy. Good enough for me. I grew up blasting these songs on my car radio. My 1st time hearing Over the Edge, that was killer.

I think both versions are solid and have their plus and minuses but for anyone to say Steve & Kelly can't make a living cause Tracii wants the name back after he walked out multiple times is just plain dumb.

I agree Shane Fitzgibbons is ok but not near as good as Steve Riley. So that definitely doesn't help the Tracii / Lewis guns vision. Riley is a much better drummer. Plus he's been jammin the songs for so long.

Tracii? This isn't on Tracii. Tracii is known to bail if drama gets to thick. he left GNR due to drama, he left his own band a couple times due to to much drama. he just wants to play.. He's a musician, he's not a drama queen. He tries hard to avoid that. If guys from the classic line up aren't playing w/ Tracii, chances are, its because they brought to much drama into the band.
