@@jordancharles8598 Not really, you expect a small forward to fall somewhere between the speed of an SG and the strength of a PF... Melo had the full PF body and strength even post moves, combined with an SGs off the dribble stroke, feet work, and illusive handles. He was different.

I just love how quickly and strongly he rose up for his jumpers. He would literally snap up to his peak jump height and let it fly, body straight up and down the whole time. Vicious.

Most underated scorer ever. In his prime he was as athletic as some guards with a bigger sized body, meaning he could bully ball. He also could shoot 3s well and was an amazing iso scorer.

Yeah it's always someone else's fault but his. Did any of the things you mentioned cause him to be a poor defender, poor passer and playmaker, poor cutter without the ball in his hands, over dribbler and overly ball dominant, poor teammate, poor student, and have a poor work ethic? Melo was so naturally gifted and yet he wasted it with his shitty attitude, lack of maturity, lack of intelligence, and laziness. Had he had the heart of Kobe or MJ he could have been a true legend and champion. But instead he became a one dimensional and ultimately forgettable "star" who achieved nothing in his career aside from racking up a bunch of points in mostly meaningless games.

Melo was one of the first (along with lebron) that demonstrated portionless basketball at significant size. He’s also the reason a lot of players went double sleeve’s especially with the headband. That with the leg accessories made him look like a superhero. His game definitely will be missed, as a native New Yorker especially

Despite the lack luster team accomplishments in his career, this man could win you a game by himself on any given night. He can get you bucket on the low block, behind the arc, off the dribble etc. I always appreciated how Melo embraced rebounding the basketball as well. A truly different skill set than most with a scoring capability like his.
