I love this story no matter what anyone says. I think people who like this movie are sensitive people who can find beauty in sorrow and pain. Like the wind blowing leaves, like flowers withering, like people dying. After being born in this world, the important thing is what you have in your heart and what you do. I want to never forget what I felt in this movie. Even if one day I die and become nothing.

Rachel Portman brings heart, and soul, and sometimes much sadness to all of the music she composes. This movie brought me to tears in so many of the scenes. I am 66 years old, and I look back on my life when I watch a movie like this. I try to see everyone that I have had a connection with. Some are gone now, but they are still with me till my end. If you are young, and watch this movie, remember that your life goes by so fast. Enjoy all of your family, and friends while you can. It can change in an instant, and then nothing can be said to them anymore.

+Charles hesse Hey Charles, Haven't seen this movie but I sure can relate about life moving fast. My mom just passed and somehow things for me have changed. Like you said some friends are gone but some are still around (not many). I now cherish my family a whole lot more than ever. Nice review I want to see this movie now. Thanks

3 years after watching this movie, it still haunts me. It's painfully beautiful, and the soundtrack gives the opportunity to feel all the emotion at the same time. It hurts, but like a scar that hides a treasure deep in my soul.

Almost 10 years since I’ve watched this film…you’re so absolutely correct it’s hauntingly beautiful. Thinking about watching it again now. It hit me SO hard and haven’t been able to watch since but the score is constantly playing in my head

Haunting is the perfect word for this movie. Hearing this music brings it all back. It’s been years since I saw it, but the impact it made is a tribute to the author, film makers and actors.

There are some moments in the movie that, together with this music, make it as though unique. The acting, the story, even colours - they aren't very exceptional; we know many movies with such mood. But then, as I wrote before, there are these moments - like Kathy looking back at Tommy in school, nearly at the end of the movie. All the children were singing, looking forward, focused on the stage, but Kathy looked back. She looked at Tommy, and he was looking at her, too. And that is where this music unfurls, with that powerful tidal wave. There is something very human about this movie and music, something inexplicable.

The first time you listen to it, it rushes through your heart like a quick sunrise in Summer and then you feel cold and want to feel that warmth again. So you listen to it for the second time and your heart expands. You feel as if something inside you is missing - a memory, an emotion, a feeling. Your heart twitches in discomfort as the melody plays in the background, as your eyes stare blankly at the monitor. You no longer see, you no longer listen, but you live, through this song and its beauty

I finished this book 3 days ago and keep thinking about it and that keeps bringing me to tears. Never has a book affected me like this! I ried for a good 10 minutes after finishing it and then off and on. A picture from a magazine, thrown away in a puddle, rubbish blown onto a barbed wired fence. Very powerful symbolism.

Never let me go is a fantastic creation by kazuo ishiguro, i loved the book so much im doing a dissertation on it. Although the film did not meet the books standards, the cinematography was brilliant and the music is heart wrenching. I love this piece and you cant help but cry as it plays at the end of the film

You put exactly into words how I feel, it’s one of, if not, my favourite book and I love the film so much but the book cannot be beat, I feel like if you want to watch this, reading the book first makes it so much better. The book goes into such detail through and entire persons tragic life and the pacing is slow and painful which is something I think the film lacked. I felt like I’d been on this journey with them after reading the book which made it so much more impactful.

One of those rare movies that make you realize none of us can escape death and life is shorter than we realize. Value its pain and sorrow as much as you value its sweetness and joy because it's all we have and will ever be given.

so much heartfelt work went into this movie and soundtrack, everything is so beautiful, so sad, a woven tapestry, threaded with the saddest stories, dyed with passion, and empowered with hope and love
@jaygapuz129011 жыл бұрын
This is indeed the best soundtrack for me. It tells the whole story. It starts with a heavy feeling that signifies the ending and then it becomes lighter without changing the theme which for me is like recalling the past events (childhood days of Kathy and Tommy). Both their love and hope is clearly evident in the soundtrack when all the instruments play in harmony. And then it slowly fades into melancholy. Excellent soundtrack! It really suits the movie.

song of the day 23-03-2016: We stumble through life never really knowing what we've been through, never sufficiently stepping aside to collect our experience. And when we complete, no great caterwaul sounds our departure, even the best barely make out the faint thud of a dense anthology closing shut in the distance.

discovering this author made me feel alive at one time... Now I'm pretty much back to where I was before. This is the first work I read of him, and I think it's his best-written, tough his other work is also very good, and maybe partly more "representative" or "significant". But that is neither here nor there. It was a nice discovery anyway.

Dont know about anyone else but the full impact of the story did not hit me until a few minutes after the movie was over and I started thinking about the story itself.Clones were treated as second class citizens, kept out of the public eye until their organ donations started. No chance of escape. The book won a writers prize for the author..heart wrenching ,thought provoking story..wonderful

I have never met Rachel Portman and probably never will, but I would suggest that anyone who can create such lovely melodies must be a sweet and sensitive person, and one I would feel privileged to know. 12/10/2014

A very optimistic opinion. I happen to have met Ms Portman for a function we both belong to. Believe me, we barely resemble or appear to be what our music represents. Writing and playing music is, for want of a better description, our job. Other than that, we are what our life experiences allow us to be. Rachel is very nice when you first meet her. But having a conversation about "things" gives pause and you may...repeat...may change your opinion.

I agree. It starts out almost chaotic and then at 2:32 there's calm, as if the waves of some storm have ceased. It brings some immense closure to the score, a feeling of reassurance. Definitely the best track.
