I got a ticket for "doing 70 in a 45" and he "graciously" dropped it to "60 in a 45." However, he stopped me adjacent to the 45 sign. The only person who might've been doing 60 was the person three cars ahead of me. Not to mention the cop flashed his lights and started pulling out before I even reached him. He was clearly scanning the people in front of me, but he didn't want to chase the person who was actually doing 60 in a 45.

NEVER PLEAD GUILTY to something you did NOT DO. Make them PROVE their case.

Plead not guilty, show up, talk to prosecutor, maybe case will get thrown out, if not, elect to have a trial, never give them your $$$$

In NC you can also get a PJC. That's a prayer for judgement. With a PJC you get the citation sealed for 3 years and if you don't get another offense in that time it's thrown out as if it never happened. Check your state's laws because your state may have something similar. Also, it's not the cop you want to talk to, it's the DA. By the time it gets to court the citation is the DA's responsibility. The DA is the one who can offer a lesser pleading. When it has reached the DA's office the issuing officer no longer has the authority to modify or fix the ticket.

ALWAYS plead Not Guilty and go to trial. If you live in a big city there will likely be a pre-trial conference where the junior d.a. will offer to reduce it to a parking ticket because it costs then money and time the more people request a trial. Take it. No points.

There happened to be an ambulance that went by, so when I turned the corner to try to get to a safe spot to call police, an officer pulled me over. Stupid me told him I was fleeing from a possible robbery/carjacking against me and he said, "I don't care. It isn't an excuse." He didn't investigate or care. Three tickets. Yeah I got a parking ticket in the winter it was my one and only ticket ever so I didn't know that I could argue it at the time I went to the court and paid the 200 dollar ticket this was when I was first driving. I only found out afterwards that I could have argued it in court.
