@@AmbrosLandscapingInc couple questions for you! I’f you spray weeds will the soil be affected if you want to start planting things in that area? Somebody said that one day and it freaked me out that I wouldn’t be able to plant things in that area afterwards, I want to landscape an area for my parents weve been struggling with a ton of weeds! I was going to tarp the area and starve the plants of water and sun what do you think I should do?! We have a lot of weeds and have been fighting them for years! And do they sell the edge pro in electric instead of gas and if so where can I buy one?!

@@tanisgeorgetti7317 if you are going to plant vegetable or plants where you would be consuming for food I would recommend an all natural spray such as "Burnout"...or a natural blend of vinigar and dawn soap will work very well also. In my 10 years of spraying weeds we have had no problems with planting plants or shrubs afterwards since we use a lower mixture rate. The only weed control I know that would prevent you from planting anything afterwards were granual weed applications such as Carson. You can purchase the EDGIT PRO on either their website or ebay. Hope this helps!

Funny story, I had a shrub cutter (basically just a circ saw blade) on my Stihl weed Wacker and did about 2 acres of tumbleweeds and various other plants with the safety shield on (leaving the stubs) when I finished the field I took a step back and tripped on a stub and tried to throw the Stihl away from me but because of the angle of me turning around to go back to the truck I threw the base away and the spinning blade right up into My right forearm which cut all my tendons off, when people talk about shark attacks and how they just felt a Tug, that's how it felt. I got em all reattached but it was a scary time. doctor even put my tattoo sleeve back together and you almost can't tell it happened 🤣

For perennial beds, I find that using spray is not efficient. Overspray causes damage to flowering plants and trees, and then you have dead weeds hanging around for too long. I have gotten so fast using a Hori Hori knife, it is just as fast to use my knife and dig up all the weeds and then they are GONE right away and no need to go back and clean up the dead and dying weeds. There is no danger to wildlife and no damage to nearby lawn, plants or trees. I learned the hard way using Gly 4 spray. Just using my knife and good old hard work does a beautiful job and no danger to the environment. I have enormous and beautiful flower beds and not just a tiny garden either. I am no youngster, so I'm always looking for easier ways to weed as well. Thanks for a good video. I do love using my weedwhacker upside down to do edging. It works great.

From now on no more chemicals.

Can you do a video on the right way to trim weeds in a front yard? I feel like I am doing it all wrong (just moved into a rental home about a month ago). The first time I did it I mowed the lawn first then took the whacker and went to wherever I saw weeds sticking up. They seem to grow back just as tall in a day or two. I thought about going left to right over entire yard but it seemed like it would take forever and weeds are not everywhere. If you could do a video showing the way that you do it would appreciate. Thanks! :)

So this popped up on my YT rec's list and I thought "Dang! That sure looks like the Costco where I live!" Turns out, it is. I've never broken any glass with a weed eater, but I have with my riding mower when I had the deck too low and drove up on the gravel pad. It broke a window in my car AND the front of my house. Now I move the cars before I mow and pay more attention to where the chute is pointed.

We use sure guard as a pre emergent in the early spring and it works great! Keeps about 95% of the weeds out the whole season. Its expensive but it saves on so many man hrs and it paid for itself the first day. Its Its highly concentrated, 1 bottle covers 4 acres. When we are in the middle of the season for any places that have never been treated we mix round up with sure guard and all the weeds are gone for the rest of the year. Iron sharps Iron. Keep up the great videos!

Yeah, no debreese problem. When I used my edger along a gravel driveway, I set up a sawhorse and a sheet of plywood to stop the small stones I had slinging off. Not enough momentum to ricochet if you angle the plywood. Looks weird for thirty minutes and after cleanup, you use a rake to put the gravel back. Best yard around there. The new people ruined it.

Many seeds require being turned under the soil to start germinating. I control weeds without any digging and minimal soil disruption. I pull any weeds with seed heads and throw them away. Wet the soil first for easier pulling. I use Roundup on the young weeds that are not in vegtable gardens or fruit tree planters. Minimum concentration and spot applications only. As with any poison, the concentrate is the most harmful. When mixing Roundup don't get it on your skin. Spray by hand and close to the ground when there is no or minimal wind.

I moved into my house six years ago. The yard had thick healthy grass, not a weed anywhere. There is a bad hill out front; I see it slipping away every year. Now there is no top soil, no favorable grass; just weeds that seem to have a growing season; when one flavor dies away, another takes its place. I, too, have developed a weed trimming style: I start at the curb at the street sweeping upward, but I have to leave something there to try to hold some of the dead dirt in place. I found on KZfaq a couple years back, to lay down a certain bark or compost after reviving the soil and planting a ground cover (or something); and that no rain/water will wash it away...........Any ideas??

The guard in this video is called the "Edgit-Pro" which you purchase seperate from the trimmer. You can buy it on their website or Ebay. The trimmer in this video is the Stihl FS-94R

? What type of string head, are you using ? Is it some newer design, from Stihl ? I have an FS 40 whacker, Stihl. With several types of string heads......never seen a disklike, type, like this one before ? ( i also made a saw, using skill saw blade, on a cutoff 9/16 socket; welded blade to it and screws onto trimmer drive nut. Works great. (use about a 30 tooth blade) Use the right hand side guard, as saw guide, so the blade turning, is pulling AWAY from you )

I wonder how this type of weeding would help with bindweed which is about as aggressive as any weed can be.
