As a person who travelled a little bit, I can tell you one thing. Not all countries have the same card system. The NL absolutely adores its system, which in France is only used by 12-to-18. Italy really, really likes the magnetic strip and hand-sign. The USA much prefers credit cards, even though many countries restrict sales to debit-only. And Germany is the kind of place where you hesitate even having a credit/debit card in the first place, because so many businesses just tell you "Entschuldigung, ve only take the cash". Anyway, that no-cash policy must be modern. Last I came to Norway, my problem was more "how do I not get stranded on an island after the last boat leaves for the mainland" or "please let it be a bus before tomorrow", rather than "can I please pay with cash"...

Good, we need someone to keep the cash flowing. I don't use cash often, but i would be very sad if cash disappeared.

Lol every single norwegain ive seen in oslo wears branded ralph lauren and what not. Oslo probably has the highest rates of people buying branded stuff to show off.

Oslo -- which, I agree, is a biggest city, not Lillehammer - has Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, S Laurent, Jimmy Choo (which surprised me, 'cause no high heels in your "Shorts", right?), Balenciaga, Guicci ... Norwegians shop at these stores, not the French, not the Germans! They have all these stores at home! And those are NOT hiking shoes, those are "let's go to the market on Saturday and have lunch with friends shoes." And aren't you a bit old for a boho slouchy?
