Just a quick note: If a Pokemon switches out before yours does, the opponent's Pokemon is confirmed faster. That's also how you know the Kyogre was scarfed, since it switched out before Cryogonal. :)

@@goom- yes thats correct: if the opponent takes sand/hail damage first, takes dmg of poison or a burn, recovers hp due to whatever first, it is indicative of being faster. Remember tho that this only accounts for the same "animation" - meaning that if you take poison dmg first, and then your opponent's leftovers activate, it doesn't (automatically) mean you are faster. This also extends to moves like Protect btw, because Pokemon move based on their speed in a specific speed priority bracket. So if both Pokemon use Protect in the same turn, the faster one will use Protect first. Just so you know :)

I can't believe in my violet playthrough I deposited my Espathra and replaced it on my main team because it was "too weak." There's a trend I'm noticing where a pokemon I consider/almost use but don't becomes my favorite from that gen. Grimmsnarl is my favorite gen 8 pokemon but I used Hatterene at the time.

Why is dragon tera Muk a thing? The dark tera is understandable for the psychic immunity, but it does not learn any dragon moves and it doesn't have any weaknesses that dragon would really solve unless you are afraid of water/fire/electric

Games like the first one are so frustrating. You were in control the whole time, got a winning endgame and got punished on basically the only turn that really mattered. that feels even worse than getting swept by something you have no answer to.

in the first game when it was 2v2 wouldn't going cryogonal be much better than roaring moon? you could freeze dry for free either way and if they went cyclizar you could tera steel to guarantee you live draco every time

But then cryoginal would die to origin pulse/water spout. It's tanky on the special side but it already had chip I think and the extra Draco chip would be too much. Besides it's easy to say these things in hindsight

Lvl 71 84 SpA Tera Water Kyogre Origin Pulse vs. Lvl 88 84 HP / 84 SpD Cryogonal in Rain: 152-180 (53.5 - 63.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Outhealing was always gonna be tied to some risk but I guess your opponent could've missed Origin Pulse just as easily. The safer play for them was Water Spout anyway.
