Mine are in their late 20s and early 30s. It is bittersweet, but grandkids help. I had to keep telling myself that my purpose is to raise productive adults. It wasn't to keep them babies no matter how much I wanted to. It is hard, but watching them come into their own is a great thing, too.

I miss those baby days! My youngest of our 7 is almost 13 but we now have 2 grandbabies! You are right it does help and reminding that watching our children grow into productive adults is such a a sweet blessing

Happy Birthday Dad of the year! God bless you with many more! Solo reminds me of my Father. He is so patient and such a hard worker. My Daddy loved Jesus and his family. He was such a giver And he had a little African heritage. Children leaving home is hard and we cried every time one of them left. Thankfully they all serve the Lord. My oldest daughter and her husband pastor a church and two of their girls are in missions. We’re blessed.

You are a few years a head of me, but I am already feeling the sadness/happiness of them creating their own lives. They are not leaving though, just as you didn't leave your parents. They are just on their next leg of their journey. They were raised with love, strong values and morals. It is their time to venture, but they always return!

Sarah my 4 daughters started college last fall and although they are only 40 mins away it is still so hard and we dont see them every weekend. My son is in high-school and he is the only one still at home. I don't think it gets easier you just learn to adapt. The goal is to raise them up right and send them off even though your mama heart hurts. Hang in there, you got this!🤗

Oh my GOSH!! It was one thing when Judah left for his adventure!! But Belle?!?! Ahhhhhhh it’s so different somehow!!!!!! I don’t even have a daughter (yet.. 🤞🤞😂😂) but I can only imagine!!! Keep your chin up!! You know she’ll be fine!! And thank God for the technology we have now!!! Aw GO BELLE GO!!!! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOLO!!!!!!! Happy birthday Solo. 44 years young. My husband turns 49 later this month. It’s tough when your kids become adults. My oldest is 21 and lives 2 hours from us. It’s hard to get used to. I miss him. 😊

How wonderful, too, that there is a way to stay in touch via video chats that make their distance seem not quite as far away. Happy birthday Solo! Sarah I completely and totally understand this season because I’m in it too . With one away in Tulsa finishing out her junior year and one daughter getting married in October . I am full of emotions . We also have our youngest still at home and about to enter high school . It’s a different season the season that a lot of parents don’t like to talk about . Lifting you in prayer . Lifting sweet Belle in prayer as well , that the Lord will equip her as she goes to serve .

Sarah, you and Solo have done such an incredible job raising your children to serve the Lord...our greatest calling. My Pastors wife told me a long time ago when I was worried about nieces and nephews...she said " oh Sugar...( her love language) don't you know that Holy Spirit is the best babysitter?!" When I dropped my nephew off at College 17 yrs later...I cried all the way home and then remembered her words. I pray the Shalom of God over all of you. Awesome job Mom and Dad and Grandparents! Happy birthday Solo. I saw the most wonderful Instagram post from Judah for his Dads birthday. It made me cry. What an amazing father you are. And Sarah, my eldest is almost 27yrs old. She has a home with her partner here in England. They have lived together for 2yrs so far and I miss her so much still, and only live a few miles away. I don’t think you ever think of your children any differently. They’re always your babies 💜

It will get easier Sarah! At least you still have other children in the house. I only have two and when the second one left it was hard but a month later my husband and I really started enjoying the empty nest. We now have grands that visit. Life really changes fast but I will say embrace it.

I started crying when my first children turned 16 and wept in secret when they got to 18. I'm no comfort to anyone, but I'll say, it was so good when the first to leave would come back each week. 🎉Happy birthday Pastor Solo! I pray that God will bless you with many more years to enjoy.🥳

Happy Birthday Solo - the cow patties will grow greener grass this summer - this is the reason farmers spread it with a harrow so it is evenly spread - the other way is to put the chickens behind (after) the cows as they eat the patties and leave behind nitrogen deposits - those temperatures is a normal winter day were I live in New Zealand

Happy Birthday Solo! Sarah and Solo, are you going to have a basement in the new home? Awww, that was so sweet listening to the kids sing Happy Birthday to their Dad. I know that had to make Solo so proud. It will be ok Sarah! I only have 4 and they are all grown with families of their own. The nice thing about that though is, I can love even harder on my grandchildren. My oldest grandson is 30, but I love on him just as much as when he was a baby.

I have 10 kids, and my 2nd oldest (21 years old) has been gone for almost 4 years. He joined the Air Force immediately after we graduated him, and his first placement was Germany! Needless to say, the transition was rough!! My mama heart still hurts from missing him so much, but of course, we are beyond proud! Big hugs to you. It will get easier overtime.
