There's many ways in Neverwinter to play a DPS character. This is the Fighter Dreadnought, and what gearing up for the endgame looks like. Find tips for Building stats, Selecting Gear. Very informative video, thanks for the info! As I was reading the comments, I saw you asking about the length, and mentioning you had to cut an hour of info off. When are you releasing the long cut? There's so little in depth information out for neverwinter that I appreciate a very in depth dive. This game has changed so much since I first played it back in 2015, it was almost a different game when I picked it back up in module 20.

I play several characters but I’ve mained this since I began play over 5 years ago. My 2nd is a Paladin (healer) I also mess around as a tank on that from time to time, 3rd is a Wizard (Arcanist) atm, 4th is a Barbarian which I switch on tanking and dps’ing. I have 7 others but I don’t invest much in them, just toss them extra gear as I get it incase down the road I want to invest in them. 1 of every class, and a couple extras for bank space. 🙂

hey whats a good artifact set and weapon set for the fighter for like a person thats just starting out im assuming it has to be with some type of stats with power but i was wondering if there was anything specific

Look up Star Shard Choker, its a neck piece, part of a set of 3, it comes from Vaut of Stars, but you can easily buy them all cheaply from the Auction house. The set gives a decent damage bonus to DPS characters just starting out, if you dont have access to anything better. As far as weapons you cant go wrong with the Antique Weapons of the Vale, from Dragonbone Vale. High Item level, Up-gradable, and gives a decent starting set bonus. Could use those or the ones from the Seal Vendor to start until you have master craft set or something like Lionheart Set.

Hey, the build looks great, do you think you will make a video on COK mechanics? I would like to know how people see when he is gonna do the push or the spread, iv'e noticed that there aren't a lot of video about it and I'm curious how people are able to see them coming when they make calls. I've done 2 closures as DPS but I would love to start tanking it as well with my gf

I'm sure it will encourage even new players to give it a try if they can't afford learning wile in training and a lot of times during training you just get told when to avoid something and not how to see it coming.

Nice video! although i have few questions. how much actual dmg you do in ToMM, Cok, ZcM? i noticed that u do not use Neverwinter Knight, how is that not affecting your outgoing dmg? I use Neverwinter Knight, Minsc and Batiri in Single target build, i get 90% on Power, Critical Strike, Severity; 85% ca and 63% acc and i barely make the dps table at 185 - 190 mil dmg, and i use Enduring Vengeance and demogorgon set, with whatever debuff artifact is needed as active and gave up on storyteller set, as is not viable anymore. what do i do wrong?

So the original version of this video was shot from Twitch and was trimmed down from a much longer video I had made. In the cut section I had outlined a lot of things I would change situationally, one of those was the Neverwinter knight. For the purposes of the video alongside the obvious % dmg companions I chose, this was to help show how you can get stats higher as well. Demogorgon is being beat by Mythallar set atm because it procs BoA I personally don’t use Endirning vengeance I like the extra maneuverability and +dmg on bull charge from momentum over it. In my eyes if movement helps me get out of reds and keeps me from having deaths then it’s worth more than enduring vengeance. Also giving up on the books was a bad idea, at the current moment. The again proc BoA and that’s a lot of extra dmg. Now, when the BoA goes away a lot will change with builds, I plan to do a”revised post BoA nerf” build on my dps. Most likely it will be aimed at high Item level, Demogorgon set, amongst other things. As it stands I’m usually high on dmg boards for that kind of content if not the highest.

I have a very simple question and I am hoping you can help. Is the rating more important or the percentage? I.e. if I get to 90% on a stat, should I care at all if my rating is not close to green?

Of you can reach 90% without maxing a rating your totally fine, rating is just there to help reach your 90%’s. The higher your rating the less percentages you need to put towards capping it at 90%. Allows you to invest more across multiply stats. 👍🏻

In my main streaming of this on twitch I included optional things I use for my build, and I actually switch out the Angel I believe it’s called the “Redeemed Fallen” [Combat Advantage + Accuracy] for the Neverwinter Knight]. Being on Xbox vs Pc I can’t test to the extent that Pc can on Dmg differences between higher stat choices and % Dmg, so I chose stat values for the main video, but Neverwinter Knights not bad either. Valid question though, original video was around 2 hrs so cutting about an hour dropped a lot of extra info from the video.

Heavy Slash for Single Target, if you like to switch out for AoE run Reave. Forte of the off hand feature. And the Stat Enhancement can be whatever you need, I used Accuracy I believe at the time of making this video.

The mythallar set is going to be nerfed, what will you replace it with?

Hello Cassandre, the Mythallar set to the best of my knowledge is not getting a nerf. However with the Band of Air getting one, it essentially will seem like a large damage fall off because a lot of people depended on the Mythallars bonus to help proc the Band of Air. As a result of this Nerf to the ring, I will be switching back most likely to the Demogorgon Set, though I have yet to see if there’s anything else better. But all signs seem to point at it. I did cover this in my twitch stream, but I had to cut out all of the passive options and changes I might make in the future and stick to the ones I had in the present time due to the length of the video. I would welcome some feedback from you though, how was the length of the video? Would you as a viewer care if it was longer and more extensive/ less cut down? Or did it serve well to show a current build and leave possibilities to a future video? Just curious.

@@provigilance9592 we have almost the same build so I guess im ok lol, although i use an active companion, thus use different mount bonuses. I did not see yet if you have a tank build, i will take a look at your channel… the video was helpful, gave me ideas/ confirming my own build, plus your english is very understandable for foreigners like me :) its good to have someone giving good information, i know for sure that your build strikes hard. Oh and concerning the neverwinter’s knight i read on other comment, on ps5 it doesn’t give 7,5 % damage so at least on ps5 I do not recommend it

What platform are you on? This build is designed for high itemlevel and Near End Game. It’s more of something to work towards. That’s said, I’m on the Xbox and I’m more than willing to help you out as a lower level build. Let me know.

AoE mount power varies, most of the time it’s the celestial wings mount power for its large 1000 magnitude hit radius, other times it’s the Pegasus for its 3000 magnitude hit more concentrated for tighter groups. That tends to be what I run. More often than not it’s the wings though, hope this helps you 👍🏻🙂

How do you justify coming in so light on combat advantage? At cap it is 15% (25 for dreadnaught because of class ability) damage that is not mitigated by any diminishing returns…only by your inability to meet cap? Obviously, I mean just for single target since we cannot guarantee ca in aoe easily.

Because adding straight percentage for damage with companion bonuses like Minsc, Batiri, and things Neverwinter Knight or Dragon slayer trump a slight loss in CA and or Accuracy. (Single Target)

@@buckmills4159 Accuracy reduces the amount of damage an enemy reduces when they Deflect an attack of yours. Try attacking a dummy sometime and watch for the jagged arrow symbol. That’s a deflection. If you want deflected attacks to strike harder you need to have a high accuracy. Enemy Deflections are quite often as you’ll see. Especially on Bosses. That’s a lot of reduced damage if (accuracy) is not high.

I really don't like the Dreadnought. The most damaging powers have horrible animations, and so I don't find it fun to play. The old, pre-Mod 16 Swordmaster was SO much better. But then, the old Iron Vanguard was a better damage dealer, as well as being more tanky. But I do like the Vanguard Tank, so I saw your video on that as well as I am powering up my Dwarven Fighter from Mod 2 as a second main. My main is Cleric Healer these days, although I have mained them all at one time or another. Cheers! {:o:O:}

Glad to hear your dusting off the dust and playing some vanguard. Nothing really to boast about with the Fighters animations, but he is definitely a solid dps and tank class. Honestly on the Dreadnought side of things the animations never bothered me because as a burst damage class they went off so quick the only one you usually see is heavy slash the most. Shield slam is probably my favorite animation next to mow down.

I hate loadouts. Kill the meaning of having to make choices. There is not a lot in Neverwinter in the character itself. Even spect as AOE or ST isn't a choice anymore.

What do you mean by choice? Sorry trying to get a better grasp on what you mean. Choice is the abilities, feats, and features, that govern what your better at in ST or AoE. Switching between the two mid dungeon is a choice.

fighter is still under ranger, tr, and wizard in dps and they refuse to buff it. A pizza box for a shield and complete shit cool downs

I’ve run a lot of Vault of Stars and plenty of Trials, only been beat on the boards a few times by rangers or wizards, TRs are alittle more commonly on top atm, but with the debuff to the BoA I’m sure this will change things up ALOT. While I’d be all for a buff to the fighter, I put out some serious numbers on mine so I will gladly show this in a video some time. And yes while we can’t block alot with our shield, we’re not designed to, it’s meant to absorb a hit here and there, just like a rouge can roll from here to there. I actually think the block is alright as it is personally, stamina regen could use a bump though.

@@provigilance9592 the fighter's I play with are dark Ryan and justhalfsack gf dark ryan used to be in the legendary outlaws guild when they was the top guild to be in I tried to outdps him on my barbarian a while back and he tripled my dps easily lol its ridiculous how hard he hits I've seen him out dps tricksters asswel

@@demonicxpriest7699 I run a Gh15 guild called The Dragons Den, I don’t have many endgame contacts so my build is what I’ve come up with on my own. I’d be open to learning more from them. I know this is an old video but in mounts section why do you have two assassins and two gladiators guile? Are you not wasting two spots for something else? I’m new to the game and setting up my character thanks👍

Greetings. So running the same bonus a second time does give you the bonus but only half again as much. So as an example, assassin’s covenant gives 1000 ratings to all offensive stats, taking it a 2nd time grants an extra 500 to all stats. I run only 1 now in my current build. As I’m able to get stats from other sources now.

@@GalacticUnderwear I hear ya there, Twitch is pretty competitive and has a lack of viewer counts on Neverwinter specifically. That’s actually why I’m branching over here to KZfaq. I’ll continue to do both as I’m a disabled Vet and have the time to invest atm. We’ll see how things go. 👍🏻
