I have been a student of Nevilles teachings for the past five years.. This is my favorite lecture. But it takes practice!!. A philosophy and discipline to live by. Day by day. - Minute by minute. Nevilles lectures make easy listening and are so inspirational. It’s putting his teachings into PRACTICE. There lies the difficulty... Repetition is the KEY. The subconscious mind ONLY learns by repetition.

I talk to myself all the time. When an unwanted thought comes in or I hear someone else say something I don't wish to hear, I mentally say "cancel" sometimes I have to repeat it several times "cancel cancel" This is back from old DOS programming language and it makes sense for me. Other people use Stop. The idea is to be able to cancel unwanted thoughts or ruminations before they take hold. It can take 48 secs or so for a thought to enter in, so don't panic if you have unwanted thoughts - everyone does. Just don't allow them for more than 30-48 seconds and Cancel what you don't desire as part of your mental diet.

Thank you! Margaret, I am now saying cancel, cancel. There I am being so positive in my thoughts and then, suddenly, I catch myself thinking negative thoughts about others. There is a saying in the Bible, which goes along the lines of "instead of looking at the spec in another's eye, look at the twig or in my case, the log in my own eye." God bless you Margaret.

@@maryh5829 Awwww thank you for the blessing my dear. I like "cancel" since it is simple and effective. As I said, in old school programming languages that was the command to stop a program in it's tracks. Our brain and thinking habits are a lot like software - so run a program of your choosing.

To me this is one of the most important lectures. Make a habit of all daily inner conversations to be positive, kind, loving. I have written down a few different positive affirmations, at many different places in my home, my car, in the pocket of my cloths. Constant reminders to prevent falling back asleep. Not easy, but doable. The moment a catch myself in a negative one, I say STOP out loud and change it on the spot. Thanks Brian, as always well done!

I use this for health and beauty act as if you are replying to queries about the secret of your perfect health ., youth and vitality . When this conversations continues in the now you suddenly become aware of something deep within you that knows that you are eternal and everlasting. The form of the physical self will linger because of identification but the image that you are creating because of the conversations will take form in the now. That is Manifestation

Whenever I hear about anything to do with death, I always remember Abraham and how they say when someone emerges into non physical, they become the full expression of themselves and it's joyous and everything that they've ever asked for they have.. And so for that I always just feel happy for them that they're now happy and have all they wanted. I don't feel sad anymore if i think of it like that.

Awesome! When I hear friends speaking negative things about themselves I stop them with this..."Whatever you say about yourself your mind will believe, so only say positive stuff." And I think it is important to emphasize that whatever we surround ourselves with, impacts our mental diet. Years ago I was a fan of horror books and movies. I had a conversation with my very wise mother who told me when I asked her if she had watched or read certain stories, that she chose to only expose herself to 'edifying subject matter' because whatever we take in we become. It really changed what I chose to partake in. It's like changing playmates and playgrounds in the process of recovery. Thanks for all the wonderful spiritual fodder you provide for us.

I really love this lecture and try to use my mind consciously at all times. My biggest issue is when I am talking on the phone to a favorite aunt who lives far from me. She has no idea about these teachings and is of a conventional religious faith where the bible is the ultimate truth. So she has never sought out other truths, of which there are so many. Keeping our conversations positive, without going into the morbid, negative past is a super hard feat for me. I correct her here and there, saying that things like "be careful , your body hears you, or lets just imagine the best possible scenario", etc. I would like your advice on this subject. Basically, I can keep my thoughts pure but when talking to others, It is another story. Thanks

i also am easly triggered by some subjects..i guess you can try to really "not hear" the things that make you feel unconfortable..and just skip. slide..as my husband keeps saying to me. a relationship is much more valuable than religious oppinions..and probably by "force" is gonna be useless to opose her. just see her as god sees her. the best version of her..the perfect her..and let her be. and let you be. peace to you 🙏⚘

I so love hearing your voice in the morning on my walks. The wonder in your voice, the excitement to share it with us, and the way you convert what you hear and link it back to other speakers or topics is so valuable. This talk gives us a reminder of becoming aware of our thoughts. Over the years I have done many writings in various books. Excitement to me is buying a new writing book. When you see your thoughts on paper you understand more about what you think rather than cycling through your head, illuminating areas of doubt and taking time to celebrate as well. Thank you Brian 🙏

This is a real concept. I've been fired from a job because of my past inner conversations with a supervisor. I disliked him tremendously, because I felt he had an inferiority complex in which he projected upon others. Taking advantage of his position to exercise such. This behavior... rubbed me the wrong way and I deliberately had negative conversations with this man for months in my mind.. The inevitable ultimately occured. We got into a heated argument and I was fired. I told of this experience to lend a sincere cavieat to anyone who is listening to this. It is real . Don't take your thoughts, inner conversations and audible words lightly. This lesson had taught me,that man's greatest war ,is the one he has with himself. Love you all forever....

It is NOT easy. In Neville's How to Meditate lecture he speaks on the ploughmen having an easier task than one being able to focus on a thought in meditative state. And this is true. I wake up lonely often and can quickly see how the imagination runs with all the secondary emotions that may accompany it. It's ok to be lonely, it's, however not ok to run like a bull in a china shop that everything is wrong and over because of that one feeling.

Brian at one point in the images ; it shows us actually being asleep and floating through our sleeping universe . But it shows us we could pass into what they called the black hole while in that sleeping consciousness realm .

I like to compare the food that you put into your body will show the results of what you have been eating. The thoughts that you think are directly associated with what you are putting into your brain. Think good and lovely thoughts and watch what you are putting into your brain. You will know if it is good or bad for you, by your reactions to those thoughts.
