LFC fan and he was My GK hero as a kid,seriously. All us kids who went in goal were always Big Nev!!!!

Not only an Everton legend but a truly brilliant best keeper in the world.

And at the 1995 final he played excellently.

I'm not a Everton fan but Big Nev was the best Goalkeeper I have ever seen and the reason I played in goal as a kid in primary school & secondary school.

Been an Everton fan since 1970....in all that time out of every player I've seen he was the only player that I could say he's the best in the world.....and I knew I was right. Johann Cruyff said that Everton were the best team in Europe in 1985, if the opposition were lucky enough to get past Mountfield and Ratcliffe they then had to get past a Welsh mountain of a man. im a liverpool fan but imo big neville southall was the best keeper in world football for about 4 years in the late 80s

One of the best goalkeepers during the 80s along with Grobbelaar and Bailey.

Played for us (Torquay) right at the end of his career. Won player of the year after joining in January I think. Brilliant for us.

his reaction speed was off the hook for big man , i still rate him better than Peter Schmeichel
