So during the whole fade you don’t use the 1 guard? Even to blend the 1 1/2 closed to the lever open? Or the 2 guard either? You jus skip from the 3 closed to the 1 1/2?

The 1 1/2 Closed serves as the 1 open since, technically, they are the same, although the 1 and 1/2 is a bit longer. He used only corners when using the half guard to fade out the line, and not the entire blade at all, because it will create a light spot. He does a lot of corners and maybe even free hand when fading the 3 with the 1 1/2. Essentally, he is skipping guards and saving time.

close lever in small increments..test it out at each until you get the Length that blends the line out

When fading into the bulk do you skip the #2 guard after the #3 guard and go straight into the 1 1/2 guard? Or do you just leave the #2 guard out of the video?
