With a sub 2 second 0-60mph and mid 8 second 1/4 mile time, it's the quickest accelerating road car in the world. Quicker than any Bugatti Chiron or Koenigsegg whatever. It is a very successful company actually. Although this is just their 2nd model, Rimac is very well known in electric automotive world, especially in Formula E (they used to be one of the first suppliers for Formula E technologies). If not mistaken, Mate had problems with some of his investors in the early years, which literally delayed the Concept One development, fortunately he managed to recover and now have big company like Porsche as one of the shareholder.

They where shooting on Zemunik airport near Zadar. Some parts when he is driving are on the island of Pag from the bridge towards city of Pag. If you like it, just drive along the coast( mountain and continental parts of Croatia are also beautiful). It is awesome. A lot of new car commercials (BMW, Bentley, Suzuki, ....) and testings are made in this area.

Mate Rimac is everything the automotive world needs moving forward into EV's. The attention to detail on this machine is insane and I think the design is just as exciting as hypercars from the bigger brands. And I love that Mate is just a normal dude who just happens to build some of the most epic vehicles on the planet. The gift was also epic, and testament to the down to earth Rimac brand.

Elon’s relationship with the internet and the public is a very effective business tactic. In terms of Mate, that’s just how he naturally is.

I mean, they're very different people and I don't know what you think "people think". Mate Rimac cares about electric performance because of its capabilities - he also wants to build hybrid cars eventually, which Tesla never will. Elon is trying to accelerate the global transition to sustainable energy which is a very different thing than creating a handful of flagships for electric performance. The original Tesla Roadster was always a stepping stone in the direction of mass-market vehicles. Rimac isn't headed toward mass-market (unless they changed long-term strategy behind the scenes recently), except as a supplier. Mate is more like Christian von Koenigsegg. Elon is like Thomas Edison.

I have to admit this is a pretty odd comparison though. A 5 seat family car that costs ~100k vs a 2mil hypercar 2 seater.

The best part of this car is the interior...most of the current super or hyper car manufecturer only cares about speed...but they cared about buyers comfort and easy use...that's great
