Hands down the best online shooter of all time. Everything about this game was perfect, I remember playing this game until the sun came up then going to take a shower to go to school lol. How cool would it be if they remaked socom 2 with today's technology

I can't tell you the amount of sleepless night I spent playing this game. It was the first ever shooter I had played online and I fell in love. Favorite map crossroads and frost fire.

Damn it so many good memories.. They don't make games like that anymore. Games where skills mattered, not perks.

Seeing you miss a grenade throw threw a window and then hurrying up and running away made me laugh, I remember doing that a lot as well lol

probably my favorite game of all time, I got damn good at it too, I could fire the M16 as if it was full auto by pressing and releasing the fire button the right way, if you remember being owned by a player named 'SOILWORK' that was me. I miss those days

Biggest mistake Sony Playstation and especially zipper have ever made is abandoning this franchise's fan base. I bought Ps3 just for the new Socom games.. and Socom confrontation was good, Socom 4 was a good game that wasn't Socom. I feel completely OK about migrating to Xbox One and buying Halo Anniversary series (all halo games with multiplayer access in November).. I'm so disgusted. H-hour is going to be mediocre 7/10 AT best.. probably 6/10. No point of waiting around. All they had to do was re-release Socom with better servers and some updated graphic touch ups and most of all a clean 30 FPS steady frame rate, and to remove the known glitches. Patching future glitches would be so easy with the tech stream line capabilities of today and users submitting videos to show the problems in the game if people were cheating I've never seen a game in my life have this much of an underground following as Socom for a series that's supposed to be "done"

This game started it all for me back in the day, I used to play for like 10 strait hours some nights till the sun came up shiiiit. I remember shooting players that fell asleep at 4 oclock in the morning lol. Loved all the maps even the foggy swamp and that jungle map that everybody hated. Made alot of friends all around the east.

So many clans took FH Terrorists just so they could camp with the hostages. One of my favorite wars involved this map. The enemy was FLA, and they claimed they never lost FH Terrorists. So, like so many others they camped the hostages. We had the lead 5-3 and there was also two draws. It was round 11 so we could not lose. They were not very smart and didn't realize that they could not win. Anyway, they again camped upstairs with the hostages in that last round. My friend just threw a grenade up there and happen to get the Terrorist and none of the hostages. We won the round. In the lobby they flipped the fuck out. We were such cheaters and code9 BS. We laughed. Then we played Requiem Terrorists and won 6-0. We got the bombed planted so fast they couldn't handle our strategy. Next we signed off and made new names and a new clan. Found them and played another 4v4. Kicked their ass again. Of course they took FH, more camping and more losing.

FH was fun. Desert Glory was prolly my fav map. Crossroads.Ruins. shit I loved them all.

i was in the clan [AMC] and this was the only map we played. and we all stayed ranked ensign because after every round we would teamkill eachother. miss those days

i look back at old games very often and get nostalgia. but nothing gives such a strong sense of it more than this game and i dont even know why. what a masterpiece

crazy how addicted i was on this game. i do try to play it on pc now but i dont feel that same energy anymore, but man i would play this everyday for hours.

I wouldn't even want an HD version because that's when shit got messy. Keep it original. If Socom 2 came back like it used to be without Code9 I would give up anything other game or system for that.

I just got xlink today.. for those who are wondering, it's easy as hell to set up. You'll be done and on socom in 10 minutes, literally. At night you'll always have a full room to play in. Get xlink and get pumped for h hour!
