Think French Grand Prix and you'll probably think of Magny-Cours or Paul Richard. And if you're of a certain age perhaps Reims or Dijon-Prenois, but you probably won't have heard of Clermont Ferrand (or Circuit de Charade). Designed in the late 1950s it hosted the French GP four times until 1972 and French motorcycle GP no fewer than 10 times. It's been left pretty much abandoned since the 1970s until now... our very own Steve Sutcliffe takes to the track in the new Jaguar XE 300 Sport for a special couple of laps.

Jaguar XE, the car many journalist claimed “it has beaten the 3-Series” on their first test, but forgot about it next week and now been treated like it never did. Come on

First reviewer I go to, always get a great commentary about what the car is doing, and always being driven on the limit! Remember Steve racing so you know he know his stuff, unlike some other reviewers who think they are quick!

Circuit de Charade is a fantastic circuit and the XE 300 Sport is the most amazing car Jaguar have ever built.

Wow.. As a petrol head, this for me is the content that I like very very much..A road steeped in history, fantastic driving with silky smooth oration.. Steve IMO is one of a very small number that can deliver content to this level.. as for the car..not my cup of tea..

Wish this was done in a proper sports sedan like the Alfa Giulia but great none the less because of Steve. XE is just such a forgetable car. Very sad

They didn’t exist when jag and other high end brands were making history...just wouldn’t have been right!!!

@@bcraftin7846 i respect that comment. Yeah Lexus doesn't have heritage before late 80s - early 1990s. I just think these new jags are poor with the exception of the f-type.
