@@patrickfullsail2011 This one is not coming from China, it's out of the Cort factory in Indonesia, iirc the same factory that produces the PRS SE line or some high quality Ibanez come from. Well and naturally were Cort produces that own ones too.

I agree when you say putting fantastic guitars over yhe years but not they're getting better. Those new ones with EMGs in it have a strange wood combination to compensate pickups price. The old custom SC FR 2 was all mahogny the new one has EMGs and strange wood combination.

@@thiagoborsari7364 I’ve bought 11 Harley Benton guitars to date, yes the older ones were definitely made with better wood. I have an old full mahogany SG which is a real workhorse. But a lot of the Newark guitars extremely extremely high quality I mean there new Explorer’s are solid mahogany and sound amazing for the small price you pay, but to be honest I’m not really pushed on what kind of wood they use I have a couple of HB guitars with so-called popular bodies & roseacer fretboards & They resonate tone amazingly, play and sound fantastic

@@Junkbox44 I think Harley benton did more for the guitar community than any other brand after Fender/Gibson created the first electric guitars. Got myself not 11 but 6 HB from the top of the line from first and second generation. But as I said before, rather have a mahogny body and change the pickups/hardware for something better than a guitar with good EMGs but with not so common wood combination. Got the doubleneck SG and the custom SC FR 2 from generation 2, solid mahogany neck/body on both, just changed the pickups for a pair of Gibsons 57+/57 on one and a pair of seymor slash signature on the 6 strings neck of the doublenecked. What a great combination they became.

That's weird - I just bought a G&L Tele from Indonesia - and I love it, and I've only had it a few months, but I'm putting it up for sale b/c I'm obsessed with this guitar in the Ocean Flame color and I can't swing both. I figure I can replace the Tele anytime. (Plus I just bought an Epi Casino to boot that has been on freaking production delay since before Xmas, and every other week they email me to tell me it'll be another month)

Well the one I want is actually a Custom Plus w/active EMG's...

I’ve ordered 4 from Harley Benton and they all came set up well!

I have 3 Harley Benton’s and never had a problem with the frets! I have upgraded 2 of them, but that was my choice, not because they needed it and they are a good enough platform so that the upgrades take them to the next level! There will always be odd rogue ones that make it through but that’s true of Gibson and Fender as well! And given that probably over a hundred are sold to each Gibson or Fender sold its hardly surprising we hear about them!

Guitars aren't powered by the guitar cable. The sound is produced by the change in the pickup's magnetic field. Active pickups use very weak magnets, so their output has to be boosted by a battery powered preamp to reach the same level as regular magnetic pickups.

Yes these Fat55's are amazing.. These are EMG's "paf" type pups.. I loved them so much on this guitar, that I have ordered a couple more sets for other guitars

Mmmmmmmm... have to disagree with you there. I have a HB 550 and several Epiphones LP models (in addition to 15 others); I have no complaints about the HB, but my Epi Modern and ‘56 gold top Pro are phenomenal. Not sure which Epi model you’re referencing, but mine rock 🤘🏽

I have the Epi LP custom and the HB SC-550. The Epi is nicer to play, but it ought to be at twice the price of the HB. The Epi has Grovers and the tuning stability is solid. The HB needed a lot of work to get it to tune up reliably and hold tune. I got the HB used, it needed a full set up, but I hear they come properly set up from Thomann these days. Definitely get more bang for your buck with the HB. Thanks.

Have you looked at the Burny Les Pauls? I’ve recently bought 2! The RLC85JP 3 pickup Jimmy Page Black Beauty model with Bigsby and a RLG60 P90 Goldtop! Both fantastic authentic Les Paul copies! Look, play and sound fantastic right out of the box! Intonation and neck relief was spot on!

I know this is old but mine comes in on the lower 8 pound mark
